Paul's FB response:

"Bleeding Cool notes that DC has scheduled an omnibus covering most of my first run on the LEGION for next June. I've long considered that period a very mixed mark on my scorecard: so proud to have gotten to write my favorite characters, and some moments of cool collaboration (Simonson, Starlin, Sherman, Staton, Nasser) but lots of fill-in interruptions or writing assists by others because I overcommitted myself). Contrary to BC's report, I don't recall ever specifically vetoing a reprinting, Just do cut me a little slack when reading--I was 20 when I began that run. Thanks for the plug, Rich."
YES!!!
Always good to see more Legion out there.
Currently, while https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1401272916/ does say "Superboy and Legion of Superheroes #234-245 (1977-1978)", it lists "by Cary Bates (Author), Mike Grell (Illustrator)"

For note, since this will change, it currently also says:

Saw this today in my "Amazon" feed:

New LSH reprint book

Ironically, they show the cover of S&LSH# 231, yet the description as of today says it reprints #234-245.

I hope the latter is a typo. #231-245 makes more sense as it covers the "giant-size" era to the end of earthwar.
Thanks for the heads up EHF!
It's probably 234 because the Archives left off with 233. I hope the wedding tabloid ends up being included as well.
I'm just SO happy that I'll FINALLY get to read Earth War! It was beyond frustrating that the Archives were discontinued right BEFORE they got to them, so I'm glad DC has found a way to pick up where they left off!!!
I've never read Earthwar, so I'm decently hyped for this. Though tbh, with all the good trades DC are putting out (Waid Flash, Rucka Wonder Woman, Dixon Nightwing, Silver Age Doom Patrol omnibus, etc) I don't even know if I'll have time for it xD
I hope you guys get to read it soon and review it here! We just reviewed it not that long ago in the Reread threads, and it was a ton of fun--still a highlight in LSH history!
Earthwar is still my favorite Legion saga, even over GDS. It showed the true leap forward of Paul's writing and scripting. He was weaving lots of different points into a cohesive one and it was fantastic.

He only grew from there, but that, to me, was the beginning. Between it and his JSA stuff back then, I was in comic heaven.
I read it all out of sequence, and I missed it when it came round in the re read thread. But that's a good place to put some thoughts when I get round to going through it.
New description, including a revised issue count on Amazon (Still nothing on the DC site. Taking bets it changes again?):

Man, I hope that's not right because with those contents, it wouldn't include Earth War!
Official solicit: Tabloid is IN, Super Special, Super-Stars & Earth War are OUT.

From Paul's Facebook:

"Just in, copies of SUPERBOY & THE LEGION Volume 1, a continuation of the Legion's chronological reprints from the Archives series. This volume includes the elusive, never-before reprinted tabloid edition, and issues illustrated by Simonson, Starlin, Grell, Sherman, Nasser and Chaykin...quite a line up.

It's a period when I overcommitted myself as a writer, so there are stories dialogued by others, and a full fill-in by Gerry Conway, but I guess you can watch me learn on the job, and see the build-up to "Earthwar," the first long Legion saga which will headline Volume 2.

Also included is the original pitch for the Legion tabloid from my files, and a couple of my typed notebook pages of notes on Legion characters from the old days.

Copies in stores shortly!"
Looking forward to seeing the background stuff.
I found this in Amazon today for a volume 2! Though I'm skeptical it will include as much material as it attests (remember the original contents listing for Vol. 1), I know one thing for sure--IT WILL INCLUDE FRIGGIN' EARTH WAR!!!!!!

This is important to me because I've never, ever read Earth War in my life!!!

Is it July yet?!?!?
I missed rereading it when we got to that point in the reread thread. So, I'm due to read it too, probably the first time I've done so in the correct order.
The only thing I (fuzzily) remember from Earthwar, and I may be wildly misremembering, is a couple of Khund fighters swooping down at Color Kid, who switches the colors of the green ground and the blue sky and confuses the pilots so much that they slam into the ground...

So, clearly, whether that's dementia or not, I need to re-read Earthwar!
Colour Kid Carelessly/ Calculatedly Killed Khunds?!
