I wonder what aging really is, in the physical sense, not the metaphorical sense. Is it like rusting? All these on-line articles say eat anti-oxidants to combat the effects of aging. If Chemistry served me well, rusting is oxidation and if anti-oxidants mitigate aging then well, could't we just drink a glass of wd-40.... and vodka?

I'm kind of tired of being so pasty-white all the time. A little rust could only make my appearance more interesting. Plus, it would expand my color palette when it was time to choose a wardrobe.

Had 1 (!!!) cocktail before going out to dinner last night with mr_cleome. I didn't think they knew it was my birthday, but after dinner they brought me a berries n' chocolate mousse concoction with a single candle. So nice! I almost made it through the whole thing.



Today, I go to make the first downpayment on the shelves I picked out yesterday. If all goes well, before Labor Day they will be mine. MIIIIIINE!! [evil laugh]

My folks have had a daily cat visitor for the last couple of years. She's 22/23. She can't hear, doesn't walk steadily, can't clean herself the way she would like, has occasional toilet issues and eats oddly. Other than that, and she's long haired so has had to get a *lot* of grooming, she looks amazing!

Apart from "looks amazing" and "22/23", she bears no resemblance otherwise to our Cleome.

Well, it's true my hearing and balance aren't what they once were, but my eating habits are, uh... not noticeably weirder than they were when I moved in.

Roasted Garlic-White Bean dip, anyone?

Oh, me, me!

Here it is! The recipe doesn't tell you, but the garlic sort of "cures" in the mixture after it's made, so this is actually tastier after it sits a couple of days in the fridge. If you can wait that long.

Also, I find it too rich when it has more than the original listed 3 T of oil, so if it needs to be a bit thinner, I just add a teaspoon or two of water and mix well.

That 2021 entry is a sad reminder that I've hardly cooked anything more complicated this year than toast and popcorn... so far. I should really do something about that.

Headed out in a bit to our favorite Dim Sum place. Then maybe we'll hit a yard sale or two, and then I'll get back to trying to *finally* complete the first collage of June.

It's great to have you for my friends. Hum Bao and Shumai and heaps of delicious Singapore-style noodles for all!! (Plus floods of hot tea, of course!) mr_cleome says it's on him!!

Figuratively, I hope... Where is he on the Klutz Scale...?
