Well we have a rehab room and I don't see this thread yet...
Do you think Lu sometimes stands in front of pople and makes them think they're more drunk than they really are by merging and merging in front of them? Bet she does
Alright -- two hours of drinking later and I'm drunk .... so what's so fun about that?........ oh, I know : FUCKSHITPISSCUNTFUCKASSHOLEFUCKCUNTSHIT!!!!!!!!
You know there isnt anythiug wrong with it :Smileyface": but the other hand too many people will jugee you or other poep;e without looking papst there own noses at hthe facts. I have often said I could be rich if I could invent a computer breathalyzer! It would have saved me from many embarrassing facebook posts. I anticipate some in my immediate future (see my 'Today I..' post') since I am already drinking.
Most of my posts of the last three days were influenced by a steady diet of Maker's Mark! My Oklahoma clients apparently think our jobs are akin to those on the TV show Mad Men!
Click Here For A SpoilerSeriously, I was worried over the last few weeks that I might be drinking too much. I sort of asked mr_cleome if he'd noticed that it seemed that way. He said "no." I mostly wondered because work really does leave me in a lot of pain some days. I thought maybe my consumption was creeping up without my really being aware of it.
Anyway, I laid off the sauce most of this week, just to make sure. I figure a lot of my exhaustion is just related to the fact that work is a freakin' oven, and we race around all day there like maniacs. I've probably just been dehydrated, which makes the same amount of alcohol seem stronger than before.
fk, go out and have a really killer piece of cheesecake and then come back and rave about it.
(Actually, I did this last night. The dessert was so fabulous that I forgot ALL ABOUT that drinking to excess thing. [ahem] I did have one Irish Coffee, though. It was very nice.)

But, but ... I can't have cheesecake!!! WAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! lol
Ok but I can have an Irish Coffee sans the alcohol. Great idea! Thanks Cleome!
You didn't. Are you a fan of fruit salsas? I never can decide if I like them or not, and just keep eating and eating trying to decide if I like them.... until suddenly the dip bowl is empty. I'm probably not the best guest to have if you are serving homemade mango salsa.
I feel like if I wrote my comic book reviews drunk, they'd get a lot more "foot" traffic...
Trouble is: the whole reason I don't have any comics to review these last two weeks is because of my unwillingness to siphon any money from the Booze Fund.
Though we haven't interacted too much over the years, you're a Legion Worlder and no one on Legion World sucks. Everyone on Legion World is fabulous. It follows, then, that you do not suck and are fabulous.
What Rocky said, although, I'm not fabulous, merely okay. But, I do have flashes of effin awesomen.
sounds like yer in a bad way, Drake. Use your good sense, cause common ain't so common. do whats right for you and come here for good friends and good times when needed.
Hopefully your early drunken posts in this thread back in 2003 weren't also due to the wife's infidelity.
Seems like we're in the same borough. If you ever want to avoid drinking for a bit and spend an hour on the massage table for free so as to forget hating yourself for a bit, let me know. (Via private message, because I will probably miss it in this thread.)
Incidentally, here's the traditional centerpiece that big-city hotels on Imsk always feature so their off-planet guests won't get too homesick during the Terran holidays.

Basically just a really good buzz....but first time in a while I've even had that! Posted somethin' silly about "gone" I probably wouldn't have if sober...
I had a wisdom tooth pulled on Wednesday, hence the pills. Today, I fell asleep about every 90 minutes from the stuff-- for about a half hour each time. It was impossible to get anything done.
For once, being out of work was a plus.

No, no... after his 2nd, boastful 6:30 Ex's thirst was soon tempered by 8:15 Ex's hunger for tapas... and, a couple hours later, they both agreed that the evening would best be served by letting 10:00 Ex's sudden craving for a cappuccino win out.

Oh, Lordy! I hate waking up in a truck stop parking lot, but at least the ladies room is open. I'm all freshened up & ready for action, darlings!! The night is still young!!

HUBBA HUBBA! Nam'Lor just wake up from nap on sidewalk in front of KFC. Still some biscuits laying around ...
Ibby, duuuude! I just looked at that AMF drink recipe, and I'm wondering: Did you ever make it home?

Just a bourbon, a beer (Hefeweizen), and a glass of Merlot for me this evening. I was having such a good time at the Halloween party last night that I forgot all about booze! Well, hopefully that won't happen again...
Cleome dudeeeeeeeeeeeette! I wiiiiiiiiiiiiish. I think I'll whip it up this Halloween and use it to make Blaze drunk so he'll do everythiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing I wanna do.
And then I'll toast ya so you can taste this awesooooooooooooooooooooome drink!

Likewise. I've had a bit of a week from hell with Wells Fargo on my pending new mortgage for my pending ( ) new house, so I plan to do the mature thing and get piss drunk later!
(FYI, the annoyance is the never-ending need for more paperwork and documents causing the closing date to get moved FOUR TIMES. So its not all *that bad* but bad enough to pretend its a reason to get drunk when I secretly in my heart would have anyway).
This reminds me of the first and last time I intended to get drunk. I downed a big old glass of bourbon (and a little Coke) while my buddies sipped a little bourbon and a lot of Coke. Before long they were passed out and I was left watching a boring TV movie. So I got up and drove home.
If you guys leave me watching this space by myself, I'm heading home.
My workplace du jour is cold, cold, cold. All freakin' WEEK with the cold. I ended up guzzling half a gallon of green tea at a sushi joint this evening while mr_cleome sipped a large Kirin beer.
I may be able to talk him into fixing me a toddy later on.
Just so damn happy not to be cold anymore. Booze would just be the icing on the cake.
I'm superdrunk right now; I created a vintage country music thread for this the other night, but tonight I'm obsessed with "Freaky in the Club", which isn't country at all...
Alas, bosses we don't like, get along with, and/or trust are a fact of life.
I'm still on the fence about my immediate supervisor. I know she has people she has to report to, as well, and they demand certain things of her just as she demands of me. I think she does her best within the confines of what the "company" expects.
But the bottom line for me is this: Do you enjoy what you're doing? Does what you are doing serve the needs of someone other than yourself? Are you able to make a significant contribution beyond paying your bills and serving your own immediate needs?
If I can answer "yes" to each of these questions (and I think I can), then everything else is worth it.
Whenever Blaze and I drink we talk about quitting our lives and just traveling around the world. Maybe work so we can support ourselves as we go around.
Of course, I think sooner or later the lack of stability will get to us...
Anyway, here I am. Drank two sake-ginger ale-citrus cocktails, downed a bunch of delicious fresh seafood and veggies... Life is great! (At least for a bit.)
Now when I post while drinking, I'm usually decently tipsy but not quite drunk. When I am rip-roaring drunk, I'm usually too uncoordinated to type anything.
Sentients! Please be sure that any post made by Cobalt Kid on any given Friday or Saturday from 8:30 PM EST to 6:00 AM the next morning has been posted while I, Cobalt Kid, am drunk!
I have to get up and listen to American Top 40 (well, I don't have to, but . . .), then decide whether or not to go to church and write an assignment for the class I'm taking.
Oh, and Daylight Savings Time begins, so I lose an hour.
Not at all. That's a harsh word to use. All of the posters who say they aren't drinking are telling the truth because:-
1) They are lying on the floor, making a last post before passing out and are therefore not drinking at that moment. 2) It can be hard to post and drink at exactly the same time. 3) Their glass is empty and they're just waiting for someone to bring them another round from the bar.
Still pretty much on the one-drink-a-month plan here. There's some lovely dry cider in the fridge, but.. NO, NO! I must save June's drink card for my birthday. [grits teeth] Must... avoid... kitchen...
Jeez.. I don't even remember how this cliffhanger turned out.
Anyway, the 1st was mr_cleome's birthday and I only had a mocktail at the restaurant (out in the open air thankyouverymuch). It was a very good one, too.
We'll see what happens on my own Big (Fri)Day a couple of weeks from now.
[ETA- Now that I'm not supposed to drink AND I'm on so many meds that clearing a window for a good buzz is basically impossible, all I can say is, "Thank Heaven for legal weed." ]
Another good local fruity-sour beer is Breakside's Passionfruit. If I do end up having some birthday booze, I'll see if that one's back in season again.
First time I had sashimi and sushi in Japan... wow... mind blown. (I did have really good sushi at this restaurant in Manila, with a Japanese chef though).
