So, I just looked at Shaghalla and I didn't see anything for Michael.
Is it just my site listing? I've had trouble like that before with other sites.
Thanks.
Nighty mentioned before that he isn't able to update Shanghalla regularly. Lash's entry could just be on its way.
I do miss him.
Where is the Shanghalla thread again?
Click the little brown asteroid in the bottom left corner of the screen...
If you scroll down to the very bottom, there are two special things. on the left is a brown asteroid, that's Shanghalla. On the far right is a star, that's the legion star. Both are cool.
Wow! I have never noticed either of them before! Are they meant to be so obscure? Kinda cool though. Thanks.
Unfortunately, Shanghalla's going to double in size on the next update:
l.e.g.i.o.nJohn
Vee
Dev-Em
Lash
Language Arts Dave
False alarm, thankfully!
I had missed Greybird, apologies, I didn't search back that far.
I both want to get that page updated and don't want to update that page.
I honestly haven't had the mindset required to do it. If there's anyone that wants to make tribute rockets/statues, etc. for those that have gone since I last updated it, please go ahead and give it a try and send that over to me to include. Please keep it in close to the general theme of the page and/or based on existing Legion monuments from the comics.
Otherwise, we have to wait until the mood hits me enough to work on it.
I hope that's not true.
Edit: Luckily a false rumor.
I wish I could help but I am not artistically inclined.
I can't believe so many have passed, even before I joined.
Hi all, I'm happy to share that Saturn Girl just replied to my email. She's doing well and sends her regards, with hugs and kisses, to everyone. I told her how much we're missing her here.
Good news. I'm going to edit the above speculations.
That is good news. We miss her.
I hadn't heard about the difficulty editing that site. I hope I didn't cause you any stress, Gary. Truly not my intention. I fully understand both wanting to and not wanting to.
We want to tribute them, at the same time, that makes it...final, in a way. When I'm on the road and something crazy happens, I'll hear a crazy voice in my head coming up with something off the wall that nails the absurdity of it. I never vocally spoke with Lasher, but I imagine it's him.
Then there's Vee and Dev. I had thought about doing a football tournament, but honestly I haven't the heart for it. So I fully understand.
it seemed fitting to share this article here
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/10/...erson.html?smid=fb-nytimes&smtyp=curone thing that helped me is that we are a community. I know i’m not alone in feeling grief
Thanks for sharing, Ibby.
The Internet has certainly changed the way we interact with others--and who we consider to be friends.
Shanghalla has been updated. Sorry it took so long. It's been a gut-wrenching exercise to go back the past 10 years (or whenever I last updated it) and re-experience the losses over again.
If there's anyone that I've missed, please let me know. I'd like to apologize beforehand for the unfortunate oversight. Sadly, there were a lot of people to add.
I need everyone else to promise me that you'll live forever, so I never have to update this page again. If you are reading this, that means YOU!
Nighty
Nighty, thank you for all that you do!
And I felt it too, we have lost many
Thanks for the update, Nighty. Not a pleasant task, but it's good to remember the fallen and the times they spent with us.
Thanks, Nighty. That's an amazing and respectful display.
Thanks Nighty. That couldn't have been easy to do. It's a lovely memorial.
Thank you for doing this. Doing a lot of research on various platforms including this and the usenet archives lately, I'm seeing a lot of familiar names, unfortunately.
This is a wonderful gift of your time to them.
Raising a glass...
Thanks, Nighty.
Nighty, what an amazing tribute that is to our absent friends! It's beautiful and very touching. Thank you!
Whether I knew them or not, they were our online family.
Raising a symbolic glass to them and everything they gave us.
Not on Legion World as much as I once was, so only just seeing these updates, but: thank you, thank you, thank you, Gary!
Far too many losses in recent years, and it is wonderful to see them memorialized in this way.
Always forgetting to check down the bottom of the forum, I missed this for almost a year.
I echo everyone else's sentiments. Thank you Nighty for your efforts and this wonderful memorial to those fondly remembered.
I just saw LoneWolf21 in the birthdays list there. I never knew him that well, but he was one of the first guys (maybe THE first) I talked to online that I found out had died, and it still makes me sad seeing his name like that.
RIP, LoneWolf21
online friendships are also very real
Haven't checked here in a long time, for more than one reason.
Gary, you did a fine job.
To all Legionworlders that have left us, be it long timers, short timers, heavy posters or light....you are remembered and missed.
