In the grand tradition of the Legion Alphabet Soup and the Rock 'N' Roll Alphabet Soup, this is a game for all the other comic book characters out there.
For those not in the know, the idea is to list alphabetically as many characters as we can come up with. If the latest entry starts with a "J" you have to come up with a "K," and so forth.
A few rules (or maybe suggestions is more appropriate) to make it fun and challenging:
1. Any comics character (hero, villain, supporting character) from any genre is allowed.
2. But ONLY characters are allowed at this point. We may get around to place names, weapons, settings, and paraphernalia later.
3. Avoid using each character more than once.
4. No Legion characters (they have their own thread). However, if you can legitimately argue that the character isn't exclusively Legion (e.g., Mordru) go ahead and use him or her.
5. Do not post two entries in a row.
I'll start:
Ant-Man
I'll be alliterative again:
Doctor Doom
Electrocutioner (to those people who is not familiar with this character - he's Vigilante's villain.)
Firestorm (so narked that Mike Carey isn't going to be doing the new series any more. Humph.)
Giant-Man (since HWW took one of Hank's other personas)
And I'll just finish the Hank Pym lovefest by saying...
Hank Pym!
Continuing a Marvel theme
Jocasta
(aliteration again and because his wife has already appeared on the list)
Mr Miracle
OOH!
Scarlet Witch!
Cap's on the previous page, Gossamer. Try again?
Persuader - Has appeared in Superman a number of times recently
Here's an obscure one:
Princess Power
(super-hero codename of the mother of Dumb Bunny of the Inferior 5!)
Good one BRM but 'P' has already been done.
Evidently we were typing simultaneously; I suppose I'll defer to our Founder and go on to "Q"
Quasar
Mark Gruenwald's pet project; the first two years or so were really good.
For all the Giffen/DeMatteis JLI fans:
Scarlet Skier
G'Nort's arch-nemesis
V
(as in "V For Vendetta")
X-Cutioner (Ugh. I feel so unclean.)
Yellowjacket - another Hank Pym!
Zsasz.
Let's mix it up a bit this next time around! Let's try to go all villains!
Works for me, KP.
Absorbing Man
Deacon Frost
[edit note: I'm really starting to hate having to edit every post I make because of my shi**y connection tonight.
]
Emma Frost! (She'll always be a bad girl in my book)
Freddie Femur (Strangers In Paradise)
The Gardener (okay, so he's not the most aggressive of the Elders of the Universe, but when he shows up, he's still usually an antagonist)
LOL... okay, I'll do "H."
Hector Hammond
Its been one of those nights KP.
Immortus
Joker, The (which, come to think of it, was also one of my Rock & Roll Alphabet Soup entries!)
OMEGA RED? Oh, really, Scott...
Professor Zoom
Queen Bee
And what's wrong with Omega Red?
Nothing, other than he's the worst Wolverine villain since Cyber. Oh well...
Riddler
Vanda Savage
Next round - Secret Identities
BTW, congrats on hitting 1300 KP!
Thanks, Scott!
also, thanks for not mocking Ursa the Man-Bear. Now I feel a bit silly for cutting down Omega Red.
Youth Kultur (old, OLD Airboy villain)
We skipped X.
XODAR the BLACK PIRATE
And thanks for not pointing out I forgot the 'l' on Vandal Savage. I'm in such a hurry not to be beat in posting I can't spell worth a damn!
I don't have Z but for the next round, we need to put their heroic (or evil) identity beside them in parenthesis.

Zzzax
Next round is heroic or villainous secret identities. You'll need to put their heroic (or evil) identity beside them in parenthesis.
Floyd Lawton (Deadshot, Batman villain)
Garfield Logan (Changeling)
Scott, someone else is going to have to dredge up "I" from their brain. I'm fading fast. Good night, my friend.
Well I'll do 'H' and leave 'I' for the next player.
Have a goodnight's sleep Jeff.
Harold Jordan (Air-Wave II)
oh...i miss that game....i leave...and two pages were added...wow...now I am getting to do the I....ah...
Ira Quimby (I.Q.)
J'onn J'onzz (Martian Manhunter)
Linda Lee (Danvers) (Supergirl)
Oliver Queen (Green Arrow)
Taking the easy way out here:
Peter Parker (Spider-Man)
Darn Kid Prime for taking Oliver Queen for the letter O
Ok Here is Q
Querl Dox (Brainiac 5)
Sally Jupiter (Silk Spectre I - Watchmen)

I thought that we are not allowed to name one Legionnaire (see post #1 here on this thread) so guess you will have to dig more deeper....I already did with Ira Quimby...I am sure that there is another character with a "Q".....Hmmm
Q - Quick MacGraw (from cartoon comics, you said General Comics,
)
So to T -
Todd Rice (Obsidian)
I was willing to let Brainy pass on the technicality that he has appeared outside the Legion and has ties to the DCU via Brainiac.
So now 'U' to me. Hmm.
Usagi Yojimbo (The Ronin)
Vivian L'aramis? something like that - Sorry can't remember her last name - (Crimson Fox from JLI)

Quickdraw ? El Kabong? I did not know he had a secret identity...blame on 1970s lack of captions! I just only saw the pictures, no voices at all. :\
Looks like that Lightning Lad has given us a leeway.
Any idea on W?
Will Everett (Amazing-Man I)
X'IAN COY MANH (KARMA:THE NEW MUTANTS)
Ydna last name forgotten (from Omega Men - Kalista's niece or cousin? once removed - yes that's her real name.) Killed during the first part of Invasion!
Zachary T. Paleozogt (ZOT!)
Oh and is there any theme for the next round?
hmmm how about only Villains from Marvel?
Abomination
Cancer (from Zodiac - fought Avengers)
Drax the Destroyer (he WAS an antagonist in his earliest appearance.)
I.....I......I......*choke* I dont know...
guess I really deserve it? (I don't read Marvel as much as you do. darn!) I.....hmmmm...
Infernus (from New Mutants first series during the Massacre of the Mutants crossover) is that right?
Norman Osborne (a.k.a. the Green Goblin)
Paste-Pot Pete!
Triple Alliteration Score!
Runner (One of the Elders of the Universe... though not a bad guy in and of himself, usually is played as an antagonist.)
Will O' the Wisp-- I know he's a reformed villain, but still originally a villain...
Yellowjacket II
A female thief, IIRC.
Looks like we skipped X again. You guys afraid of coming up with an X name? In Marvel? Come on!
X-Humed (remember them?)
Next round how about DC females?

Okay, how about teen heroes only? Any comic publisher.
Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld
Cleopatra (Lilibet Winsor)

X-Humed (remember them?) OOOPS!
An honest mistake, I assure you.
Not deliberate avoidance.
"Xemnu".
for Kid Prime who missed his "Q" I would like to insert for him - Queen Bee. Now...to teen heroes...
Thanks for the E superboy! It had me stuck.
Firestar
Golden Eagle - a member of Titans West.
OOPS! Teen heroes... okay... Lana Lang, Insect Queen
Uhm Jeff? What happened to I, J and K?
JJ Thunder....
Kiki Thunder....
We still need an "I." I'm out of date on my teen heroes. Anybody?
ohhh, I thought KP already named I - Insect Queen...that right? but still he got it right.
If we take KP's Lana as Insect Queen then we are back to L right?
Lena Thorul - Lex Luthor's Sister
Mal Duncan (He was a Teen Titan back in the 70s)
Nightcrawler.
If we are to believe the latest from the House of Marvel, he's still a teenager.

(see page 1).
Tula a.k.a. Aquagirl (R.I.P.
)
And while I'm feeling nit-picky:
"Quasar" has already been used. Does that mean we should go back to "Q" ?
ouch oh...Timber wolf..my mistake..I completely forgot about this being non-Legion...oh well. You already covered it for me. Thanks.
Someone needs to compile the list for this...like Portfolio Boy did in another thread.
As for U...hmmm....Ulla Paske (Little Mermaid)
Yolanda Montez (Wildcat II of Infinity Inc., also R.I.P.
)
*OUCH*!! That's
twice I've skipped "X"!
I must have some kind of mental block!
And I was
so proud of myself for remembering Yolanda, too!
I'm going to stretch the truth a bit and say Zatanna. I know she's not a teen, but she's so darn preky and cute! She reminds me of a teen!
Next round: Supporting characters
Arkis Chummuck (sp?) - a member of the Green Lantern Corps.
Adam & Lilith
Clay, from Phil Foglio's
GirlGenius .
Lilith Clay from the Teen Titans...are they the same or what? Anyway for D..
Dale Gunn from JLA Detroit!
El -- I say --
Elrod the Albino!!
Prince of Melvinbone! Last ruler of a dyin' race, that is!
Frigga, Thor's foster mother
Illyana Rasputin (hey she WAS a supporting character long before becoming a New Mutants member!)
(back to I - I should have thought of two Irises - West and Jacobs...oh well)
now to K - hmmm...
Kents family (Ma and Pa)
Mia from current Green Arrow book
Oho-Besh (from Omega Men)
Q? hmmm....Quick, Johnny - supporting character in early Mark Waid Flash run.
oh darn...Q beats me. OKay for T....
Talia.
Valentina Vostok (in Checkmate)
Zachary (from Xenobroods)
Suggested theme for the next round: Media overlap.
That is , comic-book characters who have crossed over to TV/movies (example: Archie Andrews)
OR, TV/movie characters/performers who became comic-book stars (example: ALF).
oh darn....okay now....C....
Crow
Ethel ..the girl who chases Jughead all the time.
Good one, S-boy, but I hope you're not stuck in an "Archie" rut, now!
Fry, from
Futurama, published by Bongo, naturally.
Jessica Drew (In the short-lived "Spider-Woman series)
LISA Simpson!
McCoy, Doctor - in numerous Star Trek comics.
Hey, LIghtning Lad, looks like the table turns on you - you missed "N" and "O"....tsk tsk
Drat ... I went away for a few hours, and missed my chance to use Bob Hope and Jerry Lewis (for their 1960s DC humor titles) ...
Let's see ... N ...
Nightwing. He was on several episodes of "Batman: The Animated Series".
Nope, sorry, just reviewed the thread, Nightwing's already been used, Nightcrawler too ...
OK got one:
Kira Nerys of "Star Trek: Deep Space 9"

Hmm. I wonder who deleted their posts because I swear there was an N and O entry. Well we still need an O so
Oswald Cobblepot
Uri Geller -- the guy who could supposedly bend spoons with his mind. He appeared in a '70s DAREDEVIL.
Wilson Fisk - The Kingpin
Zorro
Can't think of a new catagory
Disney only characters, must be animated:
Arial, the Little Mermaid
Anyone knows the name of Cinderella's step sisters..? I thought that one of them starts with E...Estella or Emilia or Estephia???
In the Disney version of "Cinderella", the names of the stepsisters are Anastasia and Drizella.
If only characters who have appeared in cartoons are eligible, I guess I can't use Eega Beeva, from the Mickey Mouse newspaper strips and comics ...
How about Eeyore, from the "Winnie The Pooh" cartoons? I know he's not originally a Disney character, but then, neither is Bambi.
yeah!!! eeyore!!! *duh* I should have known that better!!! I read Winnie the Pooh so many times! Can't believe that one. anyway...back to F...
I am stumped!
Fiddler Pig (the pig who played the violin in the 3 Little Pigs)
Gwenda? or Gwendolyn? Can't remember the name of a dog from any dog movies...I am so sure that there is at least one name of 101 Dalmations....Gwenda...from Lady and the tramp? I must have watched too many Disneys movie and I mixed them all up....
Little Helper (Gyro Gearloose's mechanical helper)

Were you thinking of the parrot from "Aladdin"? His name was "Iago", which does take care of "I". As for "G", you could have used Gyro Gearloose, Gladstone Gander, or Flintheart Glomgold, all of whom appeared on the "DuckTales" TV show.
Well, "M" is obvious:
"KNEEL BEFORE THE MOUSE"Mickey, that is!
about Igor, I was thinking about a movie called Anastasia...a russian scientist named Igor...I believe so. Like you said before, I must have mixed it something with another. I know that there is an Igor in Disney cartoon movie.

Is this a TV show which has, perhaps, only appeared on the Disney cable channel? I've never heard of it.
You and LL seem to be going out of your way to pick obscure characters. I'd almost forgotten Humphrey the Bear! (I was going to use Huey Duck for "H", if it was my turn; and Kaa, from "The Jungle Book", for "K"; Launchpad McQuack for "L").
about Kitty, one of the cat from the movie "Alley Cats" 70s movie. like Fat Cat.
Newton (Gyro Gearloose's nephew)
Originally posted by superboymddjr:

The 1970s movie was "The Aristocats"; IIRC, all the cats in that movie had French names, except "Mr. O'Malley".
"Fat Cat" was a villain from "Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers".
Octiva? from Little Mermaid, right?

Humphrey was always a favorite. And I like the obscure characters. They're more fun.

Hmmm like I said before, I have a faulty memory, I thought I remmy seeing "Kitty" when it was captioned. (yeah, it was Aristocats! )

Nope; ALL of King Triton's daughters had names starting with "A"; the villain's name was "Ursula".
"O'Malley" is good for "O".

*groan* I must have misremembered somehow...Octavia or Octavius or something like that...from a movie about a pretty girl...like Cinderalla, Sleeping Beauty, Pocachanotos, Snow White (say, what's old witch's name?), Beauty and the Beast, LIttle Mermaid, too many movies...argh!
I hereby declare you, Bicycle Man, a real expert on Disney movies!
Thanks, LL; I've only seen a couple of episodes of "House of Mouse"; I didn't think Disney created any new characters for that show, but I could be wrong. Could you identify the comic that picture came from?

Its either from "The Copycat Inventor", Disney Comics circa 1965 (not released in the US if I recall) or from "Ting-A-Ling Trouble" printed in Wonderful World of Disney May of 1966, the month and year I was born.
Thanks, LL.
"Q": QuackerJack, from Darkwing Duck's Rogues Gallery.
me me me!!! Robin Hood!
Scrooge McDuck (dang, I had a good one for R too)
Scrooge is such a great character, he
deserves two posts!
Ursula the Sea-Witch, from "The Little Mermaid".

Vincent Price has got to be one of my favorite, if not the favorite, actors.
Witches!! too many Witches in Disney movies!
as for T, I really want to put either "Timon" or "Tigger" but you guys beat me. about Y....I cannot think of a character with Y (Yvonne?) from the Rescuers, 101 Dalmation, Pocahanotos, etc...hmmm...Y?
If BCM doesn't come up with it I have the perfect 'Y' entry. I would have waited by I wanted to get Xerxes in for 'X'.
LL, is there a character named Yvette or Yvonne or Ytzaac or something like that?
Heh, it would've taken me
ages to remember the name of Mozenrath's familiar! I think sb was too hasty in calling
me an expert on Disney!
"Y" ... hmmm ... was the featherduster in "Beauty and the Beast" named "Yvette" or "Babette"?
well what about Yasmine? Yolanda? what about male name with Y? Yorkie?
Wasn't there a Yvette Guilbert in The Great Mouse Detective? Or was she just a French singer used in the movie?

Yen Sid was the name given to the Sorcerer from "Fantasia" to honor Walt Disney, years after the film was released. Yen Sid is Disney backwards. Yensid Retlaw (Walter Disney) was a psuedonym used by Walt Diseny for a writing credit in Lt. Robin Crusoe (That one I looked up).
And another Y we forgot. Well, maybe I'll save it for later when we need another.
well for the last time we have here in Disney part - I hope that we have Zachary or Zeke or Zack as the last "Z" for Disney....so do we have it?
Been doing some web searches to make sure my info was right ...
The music-hall number in "The Great Mouse Detective" was performed by Melissa Manchester. I don't remember any other female solos in that movie, or any singing in French.
"Yen Sid" is very good, very obscure!
Zeke Wolf was the Big Bad Wolf so I think you got the last one.
How about Warner Bros. charaters next? And this time I won't limit it to animated only.
well Warner Bros? Does it include JLAdventures and Teen Titans ??

Maybe it was a character basis? I'm not sure. At my age this stuff starts to overlap with real life. Sooner or later I'll be a walking Roger Rabbit.

I don't see why not as DC is owned by the WB now. They'd be legal to me.
And how about this to kick it off:
Arthur Curry (he has appeared in JLAdventures right?)
Eschewing the obvious (Ain't I a stinker?) ...
Baby Bear.
Edit: upon further reflection, I think the proper name of this character was Junior Bear. So let's make "B" ...
The Brain
"Before each night is done
Their plan will be unfurled,
By the dawning of the sun
They'll take over the World!
They're Pinky and The Brain ... "

Going for the obvious this time:
Daffy Duck.
Another obvious choice:
Elmer Fudd
Foghorn Leghorn (At least I think he's a WB character.)
He is (Looney Tunes being WB properties) and would have been my choice for F.
Granny
Thanks for the confirmation, Scott.
Hawkwoman (who has been a member of the JLA cartoon)
Inki, the young would-be hunter from the cartoons with the Mynah bird.
Jeckle and Heckle (that right? two mischievious black crows? remmy?)
Hmm, I don't recall if Heckle and Jeckle were WB or not but to keep the game going I say fine with me.
K-9 (Marvin the Martian's dog)
Lex Luthor (from Superman: the Animated Series)
Marvin the Martian
"Happy b-B-birthday, you thing from another world, you!"
(Heh, Marvin looks like he's walking backwards)
N: "Nurse" (as in, "Helloooooooo,
Nurse!!"
)
from "Animaniacs".

Heckle and Jeckle were magpies, and were from TerryToons (the "Mighty Mouse" studio).
Other possibilities for "J":
Jackie Chan, from "Jackie Chan Adventures"
Jigglypuff, from "Pokemon" (assuming that the show's US distribution being controlled by the WB is sufficient to qualify).
I ll take Jigglypuff....*singing* *singing* *jjjjiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigglyyyyyyyy Pppppuuuuufffffff"* *you zzzzzzz*
*me mad puffed up* *doodling over YOUR faces*
So where are we? 'O'?
Orange Kitten (no other name given. Was in a cartoon as a nemesis of Sylvester when he was with Elmer Fudd)
Oink! oink! oink! Porky Pig!!!! Porky Pig!! Porky Pig!!!
*bumping* know any "Q" from Warner brothers? I was thinking of one artist, okay to count him too? If not...oh well...what do we have for "Q"?
I would accept your Q artist, superboymddjr.
I think we will also have trouble with X & Z
Fear not, Quislet...I can think of at least two Qs and one X, and one Z (thank god I am watching a lot of cartoon, especailly Pokemon!
) Anyway.... as for Q -
Quimby, Fred (is that right? can't remember his first name) anyway if wrong, then another Q -
Quagmire (Pokemon)

Quagmire (Pokemon) I believe Fred Quimby worked on the MGM Cartoons, not the Warner Brothers
Just in time for "R":
Rita the cat, from "Animaniacs".
[Homer Simpson]Mmmmmm ... Bernadette Peters ... [/Homer Simpson]
oh I mixed up too many times....anyway it's Quagmire...as in Pokemon.
Any volunteer to add "R" ?
Ursaring (bear with ring in Pokemon)
Yep, "T" was obvious ...
"U": "Uncle", from "Jackie Chan Adventures".
(hint: JCA also has a "V")
Whoops, too late ...
OK, Valmont from "Jackie Chan Adventures.
Wobbuffett! gotta love that pokemon!!
X-2, Commander of Flying Saucer.
Who's that you ask?
X-2 is the only name by which Marvin the Martian was identified durng the Classic era. It shows up on the instructions he is given in the classic cartoon Hasty Hare.
Good one, LL !
I'm going modern for "Y":
Yakko Warner, from "Animaniacs".
Oh darn, I was hoping that I would get Y - Yosemite Sam! oh well for Z....hmmm one of the Animaniac named Zakko? right? If so, then him!
Um, I think it was only Wakko, Yakko and Dot ...
I'll offer "Zachary Fox" from "Galaxy Rangers" if that Z wasn't valid...
Let's make the next round a
bit broader in scope:
Anybody
except DC or Marvel characters permitted!
Agatha Heterodyne, title character of Phil & Kaja Foglio's
GirlGenius
Boon from Indy comics. *grin* (that's the only I can think of since I collect Heroclix. *grin*)
Challenger, from the old Justice Machine, published by Comico and others.
Dr. Who!!! love that guy!
E-Man, published by Charleton and then First Comics.
Gilgamesh Wulfenbach, also from
GirlGenius
It Girl of The Atomics, by Mike Allred.
Kingdok, from Jeff Smith's
BONE .
Little LuLu
Three Ls there!
I've got "normalman" in my collection ... somewhere ... should dig it out and read it again!
Odysseus from Eric Shanower's
Age Of Bronze
Peppermint Patty (who with Marcy make for one of comics first lesbian couples)
Scrooge McDuck's secretary, Miss Quackfaster.
Smiley Bone
Edit: BONE 52 shipped this week! About time; six months since 51 !
Technophage - Neil Gaiman's twisted lizard lord from Tekno Comics.
Uncle Scrooge - well is that how he has been called by Uncle Donald and three triplets - Huey, Louie, and Dewey.
But Scrooge
has been used already ... ahh, what the heck ...
Vashti Impiria, a teacher at
P.S.238 (And lest anyone think I'm only going easy on sb because *I* couldn't come up with anything for "U":
Umbra Sprite, from Matt Wagner's "MAGE"
Udo Schmidt, from Donna Barr's "Desert Peach"
)
aw....thanks for being easy on me.
As for W...hmmm...
I dunno. can't think of it. Let me think harder tonight.
OH yes!!! got it!! should have looked at my Heroclix a long time ago! W....is as....
Witchblade.
Yoda from Star Wars....the force within!
Zephyre - from Crossgen's Crux.

Donald Duck Drowned Dimwitted Daffy
E-male ejaculated!

Godzilla grouches and groans and giant-leapped into Great gorgeous geyser.
(am I better this time?)

Nit-pick time: both of those have been used already.
The Winslow warbled and wiggled in waltz-tempo in Wakanda.

THE WINSLOW:
-- Indestructible and immortal, as far as anyone has been able to determine.
-- Believed to be a survivor from a previous Big Bang/Big Crunch cycle, making him the oldest known sentient being in the Universe.
-- Figures in
at least three-quarters of the known religions in the Milky Way.
-- Dumb as a post.
"Hi!"

So I can sit out the rest.
Don't worry about it, Dev. In a game this long, there is bound to be some repetition, unless somebody wants to create a list of everything that's been posted before and occasionally update it. [Looks around for volunteers ...]
Yazz yanked yellow yelling Yeti's.
Zemo zestfully zapped zany ziggurat-dwelling zombies.

So I can sit out the rest. [/b]you could also just go back and edit your post and put in a different P character
For this next round, how about comic book place names, such as ...
Atlantis
The often-mentioned but still-unseen:
Boneville.
Detroit (where the JLA was once based)
Moderately obscure:
Feithera, home of Infinity Inc.'s Northwind
Jupiter - home of Charlie 27.
Going for the obvious:
Krypton
Latveria Dr. Doom's country
The Blue Area of the MOON!
Qward ( as it will be in the Legion real soon so grab that oppportunity before it gets released it becomes void and null)
Tralla La
from the classic Scrooge McDuck adventure
Valhalla - home of the Asgardian dead.
Shangalla Asteroid
OOPPPPss.....did not realize that it was ABC, instead of next word connection like the one in Legion section. Sorry....okay it should be W....as in:
Warworld
Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters
Yggasdril? the living planet...not sure if it's spelled correctly....corrections are welcomed.
Zandia, the supervillian country in the DC universe
Cool Next Round Canceled Titles
Animal Man
Doom Patrol....at least three times!!!
Fun Comics! (that's the only title I can think quickly. eh?)
Was there a "Fun Comics"? I know there was More Fun Comics.
superboymddjr, say a big "OH Yeah!" when I mention Firestorm to you.
Going on to G
Ghost Rider
oops took too long for G
H: Hawkman
oh duh!!!! you're right Q! As when I got done with the posting...it came in too late when I was thinking of Freedom Fighters! Double Duh! As for Fun Comics, yeah there was just before changing into More Fun Comics. Maybe my brain farted.
As for I...oh boy...
Inferior Five, anyone?
J: Justice Society of America
(of course I am not talking about the current series or the current Hawkman series for my previous posts. I wonder if any rumors will get started because of this)
Ka-Zar for K
And I'll retractively insert Fantastic Four (vol 1) since we don't have an "F" any more.
Lost In Space - the Innovation series.
Omega Men!!!! or OMAC!!! take your pick!
Teen Titans (first Series)
ZOT!

There was no X-Generation, and I've already used Generation X anyway. (call it X-Factor instead)
X-Factor is good enough for me. So what's the next round going to be?
well we've done villians, supporting cast, females, Disney & Warner Brothers characters, places, alter egos, and other catagories.
I'm not sure what catagory we can do next
How about only animal characters?
sounds good to me.
I'll start with
Albert the Alligator from Pogo
Bone (I don't know if he's an animal but he sure ain't human)
Captain Carrot
(I realized that Comet in a sense is part of the Legion - the Legion of Superpets)

Mr
Ed
Did Mr. Ed ever have a comic book?
"F": Flintheart Glomgold.
G'nort, who was an alien dog-thing/Green Lantern/JLA hanger-on.
H? Easy ...
Howard the Duck!
Get Down, America!

Apparently he did. By Gold Key no less. I think they did all the TV adaptations
Mr. Ed You have to scroll down a bit.
(I hope the link works)It does. at least for me
Kermit the Frog (Muppet Babies comic book)
Leslie the bullfrog, from Liberty Meadows.
?!?
What happened to "N" and "O"?
Plastic Man isn't an animal, either. (Though I supposed he could stretch himself to look like one.)
Finally thought of an "N"!
Darkwing Duck's evil-mirror-universe counterpart and arch-enemy:
NEGADUCK!
-----------------
I am the terror that flaps in the night ...
Negaduck?!? Funny, that's what I am watching on TV right now!!!
as for O....hmmmmsomething that i cannot remember....know it's Octopus...a member of Yogi Bear and work on the boat alongside Magilla Gorilla, Hippo who can enflat himself into a big balloon and let the yell take care of everything, Blueberry Dog, know who I am talking about? does he start with "O"?
I can visualize the character you're referring to, sb, but I can't remember his name, either
.
(Pssst ... hint for a different character for "O":
Liberty Meadows)
Would that be Oscar, the dachshund?
LL: yes, Oscar was the one I was thinking of.
"R": Ralph the midget circus bear, also from Liberty Meadows
Oh, and Pluto has already been used.
Might I suggest as an alternate Panchito Pistoles, who made what may have been his U.S. comic book debut this year in Walt Disney's Comics & Stories, in the serial "The Three Caballeros Ride Again!"
Truman the duckling, also also from
Liberty Meadows.
(Buy
Liberty Meadows already!
)
Underdog
And not to beat a dead horse because I like the title, reminds me of Bloom County, but hasn't Liberty Meadows been cancelled?
Vaporeon (Pokemon animal)
Wiener X (another Liberty Meadows if I recall)
<Yup. Oscar's dread nemesis in the Great Weiner Dog Race, LM issue #16.
>

Only as a newspaper strip, cuz Monkey Boy got sick of fighting with his syndicate editors. The next issue of the comic is scheduled to ship this week!
Cool! Pov confirmed the same. I've only picked up a few issues of the book but am planning on having it added to my hold list. I went through today (when I should have been working) and read all 250+ online 'uncensored' strips at
http://www.libertymeadows.com . I even had to e-mail a few to Caroline to give her some laughs. It made my Monday.
I think we are stuck on X. So I will bend the rules slightly by using
X the Owl from Mr. Roger's Neighborhood.
I don't think the Land of Make Believe characters were ever in a comic book, but he is stillan animal character
Good enough for me as I can't think of another.
Yakky Doodle
And I'l round of the animals with Ka-Zar's pet sabretooth, Zabu.
So... what next?
Yeah, what next? All Gold Key/Harvey Comics characters? I say those two as I don't think alone they would have enough to cover the whole alphabet.

If you're going to say Gold Key, you may as well add Valiant too, with the overlap. But I'm not overly strong on any of them, that said.

)
So here is my Gold Key/Harvey/Valiant A: Armstrong from Archer and Armstrong
Gold Key/Harvey/Valiant
Barney Google (one shot Gold Key sometime in the 1960's)
Captain Kirk (as published in Gold Key's execrable Star Trek series)
Flash Gordon (Gold Key and Harvey)
Gloria Glad Richie Rich's girlfriend
No 'I'? Okay here's one:
Inch High, Private Eye (Gold Key's Fun-In which featured numerous Hanna-Barbera characters)
Jackie Joker (failed spin-off from Richie Rich)
King Leonardo & His Short Subjects (7 issue comic, 3 from Dell and 4 from Gold Key)
Magnus, Robot Fighter, 4000 AD (Gold Key/Dell and Valiant/Acclaim)
Oswald the Rabbit (aka Oswald the Lucky Rabbit) - Gold Key/Dell
Have we finally killed this one or does no one have a 'P' character? Here's one to get the game going again:
Penelope Pitstop
Quantum (from Quantum & Woody, Valiant)
(The thread isn't dead, but it's limping along, apparently. I'm not that familiar with Gold Key/Harvey characters, and my Valiant memories are fading. Perhaps next round will be more inclusive.)
Spock (also from the Gold Key Star Trek series)
Turok, Son of Stone from Gold Key and Valiant
Underdog (Gold Key and Harvey)
Struggling, huh?
Visitor (Valiant)
We skipped "W," so ...
Woody (the other half of Quantum and ...)
Zephyr (or Zeppelin) from Valiant's Harbinger.
Next topic -- THINGS.
These are objects, tools, weapons, toys, and other paraphernalia unique to comic book characters (example, Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, or Batman's Utility Belt).
Again, steer clear of Legion objects and try to use items that are unique to a character or setting. (In other words, don't say Superman's cape, because many characters have capes).
I'll start:
Adamantium (the alloy used in Wolverine's skeleton).
The Batmobile
[Well known enough I think to be safe
]
The Cat-o'-Nine-Tails (Catwoman)
$crooge McDuck's Number One Dime!
The Evil Eye (from Lee/Kirby F4, the Avengers/Defenders War and Avengers/JLA among others)
The Fantasti-Car of the FF.
The Green Lantern (with accompanying ring
)

Actually, its the Helm of Nabu (which fits the "H" better anyway
)
Image Inducers (as used by mutliple Marvel heroes, such as Nightcrawler, at one time or another)
J-Bods: security robots on Gallimaufry Station.
From Phil Foglio's
Buck Godot
The gimmicked lance of the villanous Black Knight.
Negative Bands - I believe Rick Jones And Captain Mar-Vel wore these which switched them back and forth between dimensions or something

Its just "Nega Bands." Sheesh, do I have to correct everything you say?
[Don't answer that]
The
Orb of Agamotto (Dr Strange)

Yes please do.
(Darn I suppose you'll have to correct me for answering your question when you asked me not to)

(Darn I suppose you'll have to correct me for answering your question when you asked me not to) [/b]Sheesh, at least I made a contribution to the stated purpose of the thread when I make the silly asides
Case in point: The
Power Gem (from the 6 which make up the Infinity Gauntlet)
Quiver Both Green Arrow's and Hawkeye's. Both of which seem to hold an inexhaustible supply of arrows.
Repulsor rays, as in Iron Man's.
Trident -- the Son of Satan had one.
We seem to have gotten stalled, so I'll go again:
Ultimate Nullifier -- a device that's popped up in the FF and currently in JLA/AVENGERS.
Vision - he's unique and he is a thing (although don't tell him that)
The Worlogog, a tiny portion of which empowered Hourman III
Xavier Mansion. Destroyed numerous times but always comes back stronger than ever.
<interjection: My favorite destruction of the mansion was at the hands of the Sidri, in issue 154-- featuring the return of Corsair, with artwork by Dave C!
>
Yellow Power Ring - Sinestro had one.
The android Zodiac. All but one member of the second verison of this team of criminals was an android.
SO... anything else to do, or do we let this thread drift off into the night?
I don't know. The last couple of rounds kinda taxed it I think. I say let her go for now and if someone comes up with a new idea we can always dive in again.
