Dazzler is a SHIELD agent trying to take down Cyclop's team in Uncanny X-Men ... she is still keeping it fabulous.

A nice enough costume, but verging on Imperial Stormtrooper territory. Not sure about the questionably-placed "star" belt buckle thingie, either.

I think Paul Chadwick's post-disco redesign of her was nice. Though if they ever did follow through on the Dazzler: The Movie I'd want it to be a Seventies-tastic musical extravaganza, complete with the original look. (Or as much of it as a good singer/dancer/actor could wear convincingly.)

None of the currently in-fashion thing where everyone grimly fights endless hordes of (Muslim) terrorists while reeling out endless lines of snark, please. Already more than enough of that for my taste.

Ah, this reminds me that I had a brief Dazzler crush when I was a teenager! I remember buying up pretty much the whole series (obviously, on the cheap), and it couldn't have all been for the tenuous X-Men connection!

However, though I was admittedly a much easier to please reader back then, I remember enjoying the series pretty well! Seems like it was much better than it ever had any right to be!

SHIELD agent to infiltrate Cyclop's X-Men and replaced with a disguised Mystique who kidnapped her to drain her of her blood and use it to start a mutant amphetamine business in Madripoor.

This was a really good story.

Ali was hiding out as a band member for Lila Cheney, because of all the hate she got after people found out she was a mutant. It ruined her career. Then Malice took possession of Dazzler, playing on her ambition to be a star and not a lowly keyboard player! Then the X-Men bollocks it all up! I mean save the day and free ali of Malices control.

Also, If i am correct ... this is the first time Ali uses photon blasts and her powers are expanded to do all sorts of things like use lasers.

Covers shoved into a another template sometimes don't fare so well, but the purple border suits, I think.

It feels less constrained with her hand breaking the border, but they should have done the same with her left foot - and lost the bit of red X at the top.

I think I mentioned this in the "What-If/Elseworld's" thread I started, but Dazzler was about 100 times more interesting in this scenario than in her own book. There, she was mostly being chased by Angel vs. that respectable lawyer dude & feeling anxious about snacking too much at parties.

Cosmic roller skate paths aren't any more goofy than, say, Starfire's solarized hair.

We have a herald on roller skates... we've had a herald with a surf board. Has there been one with cosmic teleporting Hula Hoops or the Ultimate Cosmic weapon: The Omni Yo-Yo?

In the pantheon of pointless and/or ill-considered love matches, Dazzler/Angel was pretty high up the list.

I like to think those fulsome letters of praise for it were actually ghosted by a bored Fingeroth who knew it excited no one, including him.
