To say I'm overjoyed would be the understatement of my whole life!!

I'm curious about how in-depth her story will be. If it's really thorough, that means she won't have all that meaty of a role in the upcoming films. If it's kind of a "Phasma on a mission" war story, it might feel too "meh". The brief description from the article sounds more like the latter. But either course could spell some disappointment in either the movie or the comic. I wonder if she will even remove her helmet in the comic?
Hmmm....good points well taken, Lardy.

But Kelly's a damn good writer. Like "Jem", her Kate Bishop-starring "Hawkeye" book found its footing very quickly, and it has been a reliable page-turner since.

And, having reflected for a minute on your post while I was typing the above sentence, I have to say that I'd rather see Phasma treated respectfully in a comic book that is going to sell mainly to the characters' devout cult following (of which I am one, and proud of it) than for her get a bigger role in the movies, as that could be either great or terrible, especially with the demographics and marketing and hundreds of millions of dollars involved.
Well, I like Gwendolyn Christie a lot from Game of Thrones, so I'd like to see her take her mask off at some point and get some attention in the sequels themselves. In a trilogy with an exciting female lead, I would like Phasma to get more attention with the Order. She certainly seems more interesting than that blowhard Hux has been. He's kind of a generic Hitler-type.
Yeah, I agree that Hux was one of the last movie's biggest letdowns.

But my intuition tells me that the people doing the movies will never quite figure out what a potentially great character they have in Phasma. Although I also admit that I'm trying to keep my expectations modest for the next two movies, at least where she's concerned.

And it goes without saying that I'd like Gwendolyn to get lots of good scenes she can sink her teeth into, but...I guess I've just become a bit of a fatalist in middle-age about big-budget live-action entertainments. (With a few exceptions, such as the 1st Avengers movie, the 2nd Captain America movie, and the 1st Thor movie.)
Issue #1 due in stores this coming Wednesday, September 6. You might find it listed under "J" instead of "S," as the full title, IIRC, is "Journey to Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Captain Phasma."

And even though I loathe Marvel at this time for they way they trivialized true-to-life atrocities in Secret Empire and then added insult to injury by copping out at the end, I can still...barely...convince myself that I'm not contributing to the forces of evil as long as I only buy their Star Wars comics.
I'll post a full review once I'm safely away from Irma's attack, but in the meantime, I just want to say:

IT'S AWESOME! And it promises to get even MORE AWESOME! Buy it, borrow it, but find some way to read it. Issue #2 due in stores September 20.
I loved the whole mini-series.

And just last month, it was rush-released into various trade collection formats.

I highly recommend it.
