I thought I’d start a thread for the game lovers and show some of the games I’m into and what I’d like to try. Please feel free to show what you like or new things you think are good. None of the ones I’m playing though are video games. I’m about getting together with people at the table.

My main game I’m doing right now is a sci-fi skirmish battle game called Infinity. It’s been around for about 10 years and getting bigger and bigger. It’s put out by a company in Spain called Corvus Belli. It has everything I like in a game. Great story/background, fantastic figures, and great rules. The figures need to be put together and painted though.

For the last few months I’ve also gotten into Heroclix. Collecting… you guess it. Legion figures. While the figures are only meh, it’s just cool that there are figures for characters I really like. The rules also suck. It’s really hard for a new player. I think I’ve won one game in the many months I’ve been trying this. I also don’t like the “collectable” aspect. Not being able to see what you are buying blows. So I try to buy individually at some stores or online.

The game I’m just now starting to play but haven’t bought anything is Fantasy Flight’s Star Wars: X-Wing. It’s a great game so far. It’s a ship dog fight game with X-wings, Tie fighters, etc. The minis are pre-painted but really high quality. They can also be modified if you are into that.

Some of the games I want to try out are:

Pulp City. A Super Hero skirmish game. It uses its own characters and the figures are supplied unpainted like the Infinity game. I’m into the painting so I’m good with that. I’ve heard the rules are really solid and the figures look great.

I really want this game. It’s an official Bruce Lee game! The figures look excellent and I just love the subject matter. It’s still got a while to come out. It’s currently a kickstarter.

Wow, those look like fun, WangLung. I know we had quite a few gamers here who would post designs of their characters...

... Dave Hackett shared some of the stories that he and his friends put together for their heroclix games.

... kenaustin shared some of his Legion: Magic the Gathering card designs.

I'll see if I can find some threads from people who were playing City of Heroes. I know Emily Sivana is also a huge gamer.

Thanks for the threads!

City of Hero’s is a role play isn’t it?

I’ve got high hopes for Pulp City. I really like miniature games. Their figures are pretty cool and from what I hear, the rules are good too.

Here’s one I can't believe I forgot! The Batman miniature game!

Re City of Heroes, I think you can create your own character. I'm not sure if you can play as existing ones.
