Part of me thinks that looks awesome, another notices that they didn't actually show any kind of central conflict. Matt Damon sees an awesome new technology and uses it, then lives happily ever after. The end.
I do like the idea that Vi descends from Matt Damon, though.

In the 3boot Colu, miniaturized their population (16.3 trillion at that point) to fit on the planet.
Even if it's a comedy, Downsizing can't be all small-life-is-awesome jokes. Maybe a cat breaks into their world and terrorizes everyone. Threats from the normal-size world eventually convince the Downsized to move to their own planet, which they call Imsk, for some reason (the sequel).
Imdb calls it a "social satire", so hopefully there'll be more to it than Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
