I am THRILLED with the look created for Duplicate Damsel in the latest Adventure. The split costume update is spot on as is her hair. I liked the strength of her personality too. Now, if she can just be sent on a real mission with real Legionnaires, I would be completely happy!

But the split color costume doesn't really make sense now that she can become multiple bodies and not just 2. And each body wears both colors too. I'd rather see her all in purple. Looks like they're calling her Duplicate Girl now too. Duplicate Damsel was a bit of a mouthful.

I hate the split eye color too, but I agree that Lu rocks and hope to see her on real missions too.

The split color costume makes sense in the context of a symbol of her power to split even if the colors don't split anymore. More importantly, this current version is visually stimulating. The contrast between the split costume and her original one is stark--the original is drab and flat, and the split one is creative and interesting to see.

I like how Lu's gloves and boots are back now ... they're so 70's and that is totally cool! nod

I love love love Lu's current hair-style (probably my favourite Legionnaire hair-style ever) but I'm not keen on the new/old 70s costume. I loved it in the 70s when it had the cape, but without it I prefer the 60s style one she's been wearing up until now (and on the cover of this issue).

Costume aside, it is great to see Lu getting some attention at long last and I just hope we get to see Chuck share in that spotlight too - since it's been even LONGER since we got to see him in much heroic action (Lu was a main-stay of the Reboot Legion after all, unlike Chuck).

Haven't read it yet, but thrilled to here about DuSel's role (that's my new nickname for her -- easier to type, and DupDam sounds naughty). I think she's easily the most heroic of the living Legionnaires: she's died twice, taking on Computo and the Time Trapper, she really loved Superboy, she's forged an enduring, loving marriage with Chuck, she's become a dedicated teacher (always heroic). I think she's the heart and soul of the Legion.

...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

I totally agree with your statement below, doublechinner. A talented writer could really make something of her character. I wish she would participate in some Legion missions. I would like to see her interact with the other members.

Luornu has always been my favorite female Legionnaire and I agree about her being the heart and soul of the Legion.

I've grown to love her, too, over the years.
Her current costume and hair aren't my favorites but I'm liking that she's changing her outfits.

She and Lydda have almost changed my attitude about mixing costume style in the retro era.

I liked Lu best in the reboot but she was good, when she was used, before that, too.
I agree that she's a true superhero.
She's the girl next door who stands through to the end.

I still remember the issue when she, along with a few Legionnaires, including Superboy, were poisoned and facing the last hours of their lives. She feels inadequate watching Superboy perform amazing heroic deeds before his time is up. Her? She spends it split into two, to spend time with her parents equally. That, is the humaneness and beauty of DD.

I want her to talk about something besides teamwork in her teaching though. That's what they always showed her harping about in the past when she taught at the academy and she's at it again this issue. There has to be more to teaching some young kid how to be a hero than that.

I agree, Jim Gallagher. While I am very happy she is being used at all, it feels so tired to have back at the Academy sounding exactly as she did in 1988. Prejudice on the writer's part, I guess. More interesting to send her on a mission with about 5 or 6 others and see how she interacts today with oh say, Element Lad, Dream Girl, Ultra Boy, Shadow Lass and Sun Boy. I love Bouncing Boy and want to see him in action too, but it is a bore to see them always as a couple.
