I'd rather we all do the same character. So maybe a run off is in order?

I agree -- runoff to pick the top ONE! (gee, since I picked them both, I'm torn...)

I think the Duo Damsel/Triad votes should be counted together.

I'd like see people's takes on Mano, however.

I'll go Mano too! We can always get Brin or Luornu next month! Mano stills needs validation for the Empress forming a new Fatal Five during Levitz's run and purposely excluding hiim.

Although I really like Brin I'm intrigued by Mano so he gets my vote this round.

Wow -- I'm surprised by the Mano turnout -- I suggested him cuz he's been one of my fav villains who hasn't had that much credibility but with this support, I'll have to go with Mano as well!

Unless a barrage of Brin backers brings more ballyhoo, I think Mano wins this vote HANDS down tongue

So how long do we set for the creation process? I'd say minimum two weeks but longer if y'all think that'd be good.

Here's an idea to keep things simple -- what if the big gallery openings where we post all our work happens the first of the month? Latecomers can still post stuff afterwards during the next round of voting.

Either way, I'll go by whatever date you pick M-E Lad.

Very cool! I'll get right to my Mano submission for the inaugural gallery exhibit. So, I guess we need a new round of nominations while the Mano stuff is being worked on with a runoff culminating in the announcement of the next winner at the beginnning of next month? How does that sound?

I plan on writing a small story about Mano for the opening, but need as much info as I can get on him - does anyone have a file on him (apart from the Science Police and quite a few debt collection agencies smile ) they could share?

Here's the Who's Who page that'll eventually show up in the Encyclopedia. Sorry it's not big on details and that it's pre-boot. I'll try to dredge up details on the deeper, more complex post-boot version as well -

Hmm...I'm trying to think of when Mano made appearances post boot? Didn't he come early early on in Legionnaires? Lemme see...how about this?

As for next votes, I vote Timberwolf too.

Great stuff guys! I'm planning a little short story too on Mano, nothing too crazy, just something I can whip up quick!

For the next round, I vote Luornu!

That's still technically pre-boot, MEL. Mano was one of the first villains to battle the newly formed post-boot Legion. LEGIONNAIRES #19-20, LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES Vol.4 #63.

Leland McCauley sold one side of the Angtu warring factions a chemical which when used, wiped out the entire planet's population except for Mano. Mano contemplated single suicide. But decided not to add one more corpse to the heap and used his power on the planet itself. Somehow he survived, drifting in space.
He then set out for revenge against the fourth richest man in the Galaxy at the lunar research base of Earth’s McCauley Industries. This Mano’s hand is swathed in an energy that can disrupt the balance between atoms and disintegrate anything with a touch. The Legion was called in to stop the madman and almost got wiped out. Then Brainy explains that Mano needs to recharge in order to use his power to destroy the Moon. The Legion narrowly stop him by having Chameleon masquerade as McCauley and Invisible Kid sneaks up to subdue his hand.

Interesting to see that he actually isn't supposed to need a helmet/fishbowl anymore. I hadn't realized they did away with it at one point.

Oh yeah, and is Mano's right glove made from leftover scraps of pre-boot Superboy's cape or something? You'd think it would've disintegrated or something...
