I say give us a week to prepare, and settle a sqaud for the mission. This way we can have a minimum of six to eight start posting at one time to get it started right!

Perhaps an explanation of what we do on a roadtrip would be helpful for us newbies.

A couple of months back, during one of the periods when Legion World was down, Lash, Teeds, and I filled the DCMBs up with three pages of zany Legion topics in about an hour!

I'm all for it but DCMB Border Patrol has refused me entry. So have fun guys!

Not to be all adult and stuff, but might I suggest that anyone that goes on this trip uses a small amount of self-control when posting these topics? Don't give Rob any reason to delete the threads, or else it will sort of defeat the purpose.

The links already in my signature there! I'm going to suggest either Monday or Tuesday night, to spark activity on the boards right before the release of the new issue (when presumably a number of people will be visiting the board).

Confirmed participants:

1. EDE
2. Cobie
3. Icey

Basically, it's just a postathon on another board. The goal (of this type of road trip at least) is to start a large number of interesting or silly topics, to show people how much more fun they could be having on our board rather than the main DCMBs. We try to avoid doing anything genuinely offensive or simply spamming with offtopic posts, but try to just liven/lighten things up a bit for awhile.

Yeah, I think Monday would be great. Usually, Sunday and Monday are the best nights for me, and then Tuesday during the late afternoon (when I'm between work and class and stuck in the library for a few hours). This could be a good start of the mission.

I agree that we should purposely not be offensive, since we're trying to recruit new LMBPers and find new fun people to talk about the Legion, life and EDE's funny hat. We can always push the envelope, while making sure that nobody is getting offended. Although we should have fun with it, who knows how people joined the LMBP after reading Lardy post about sexual debauchery, pulling things out of peoples asses and other such nonsense . Just keep a good balance of it.

What we should do is look for people who reply to our topics and then start replying to them. Start conversing, and introduce them to Legion World. We all know the drill.

Oh and Icey will be on his best behavior!!!

If nothing else, we'll all be able to watch Icy gradually get more and more excited from trying valiantly to control his raging hormones (and tongue!) We'll have to all try to make sure he gets back here before he explodes!

Well, I've been to the DC boards and all I can say is that I absolutely hate it. Why they ever changed the format is beyond me.

Already, I've had trouble registering. It's bad enough that I have to adjust the legendary moniker of Cobalt Kid into "Cobalt", but now it won't even let me register that!

Second, the board is ugly and makes it hard to read posts without wanting to just come over here where everything is so nice.

Uh, when I stopped posting at the DC boards the last time, I wasn't having as much fun there, but at least it wasn't such a crappy board! Legion World is like the old DC boards, but even more superior, so thanks guys for making it that way (webmasters and people).

I'll try to make it over there again, but I'm already getting frustrated. I'd rather just stay here from now, after finally finding you guys again! I want to meet new LMBers and bring them over, but that board is giving me a headache!

Vee, I think I'm similar to Stu. "Cobalt" is a name over there, and either someone has used it before, or I registered awhile ago and forgot my password (which sucks since I only have about five I use, and it's not one of them). I'll try another screen name later.

I had a long day, with car trouble, a paper and other stuff, so while I thought I'd be posting all night, I've just kind of been zoning out watching TV. Hopefully, I'll be over there later!

Road Trip Report

A number of LWMBPers made the excursion (Blockade Boy, Icy, Space Ranger, jimgallagher, EDE, STU, Nightcrawler ~ did I miss anyone?) Unfortunately it seemed (to me at least) that we were pretty much the only ones around. There were a couple of other posters that I remember from before including Ontir and Matachine. Very little activity and hardly any interaction.

It's still a very annoying & frustrating board in general (I had forgotten just how frustrating!) and I find it next to impossible to enjoy myself while I'm there.

Perhaps some future recruit will stumble upon our posts and be drawn here but I don't think we'll see anyone in the immediate future as there just didn't seem to be anyone there!

Thanks again & again to Gary & Scott for giving us Legion World! This place is SO much better than anyplace else on the net!

Yeah, the whole thing seemed a bit lackluster though. I wasn't feeling all that inspired, anyway, and for some reason it seemed like I was barely interacting with the rest of you guys, much less native posters.

My favorite post I made was actually over on the "DC message boards" forum, in a thread called "I'm confused and frightened". I was complaining about the mixed messages sent by the banner advertisments, but was pretty radically misinterpreted...

To say things are slow over there is an understatement. When I first came to the DC boards back in the day (before all of you I believe except Grey and maybe Dev), there were a ton of posters. Eventually, there was an enormous amount of posters, so many that a thread was going strong one day and would be buried on page three the next. It sure doesn't seem like that anymore...

It of course makes me wonder what all those old posters have been up! You know, I think I may have to start a whole new mission, and start emailing onld LMBers (and any other poster you remember talking to) and letting them know the link to Legion World and where we all are. That's what Bri-Seahorse did for me a few years back and I was so touched that he thought of me that I came back and had another good run with the LMB! Hm, I may have to do this soon...does anyone have emails for old LMBers. I guess I could try the Yahoo site, and hope a lot of people still have the same email. This shouldn't just apply to LMBers either, but all old posters (and new) who are a lot of fun!

Alright, my nostalgia for Bri-Seahorse doing that for me made me crack and I've emailed a bunch of old LMBers. The only problem is that I used the email addresses on the Yahoo site, and I don't know if their still any good. I emailed Yellow Kid, Dedman, Sasha, Shady and Galahadran, and told them all to come join us sometime (and also gave them our best and asked how everything was going). If you guys can think of anymore LMBers to do this for (Terrence, Mart, Kid Psychout, etc.), you should! The only problem is finding an email address for them!

So far, it seems that Shady's email wasn't delivered. Damn, I hope that at least some of them were. If anyone knows more up to date emails for them, let me know! Oh, and does anyone have Bri-Seahorses' email so I could say hello to him some time?

And I think Paul McNeil, Duplicate Man and Mondo Joe are around here sometimes, although I haven't really seen them yet! I hope they post more (along with Therod, Dev and Faraway and others) when they get the chance!

If the DC boards are going to suck, we'll bring all the fun people here!

Kid Psychout's around here occasionally (I believe I saw him a couple of nights ago).

Shady's registered here, but never posted. I hope everything's okay with her.

Actually, there's a bunch of folks on these boards with 0 posts. We should start a campaign to convince them to start posting!

Hey, I got a reply from Galahadran! Gala, aka Shaton or Lurker Lad, told me to pass on that he's doing well, doing a lot of travelling and has been thinking about us lately. He says he's going to try to stop by in the next couple of weeks and join us!
