I'm only a pound off my weight goal for the year. I've been at about a pound to go for a couple of weeks actually. It's only going to go through exercise, I think.

Actually, add a little more onto that, as I just had pizza for dinner and scoffed away like a happy piglet. Slightly over a pound to go.

Although I only take 30mins for lunch, I'm a brisk walker, so it's a decent amount of calories being burned off just doing that. Little things built into the normal day work best. And avoiding crisps and chocs too of course.

Little things, I agree. Saying NO to junk food has helped me a lot, though of course I have a bit of a way to go. Blaze cane at all the junk food he wants without getting fat, unlike me, so when we go out to eat you will often find him digging into steaks while I sob into my salad.

I have moved into a much better situation. Have started cooking at home. This has controlled my calorie intake somewhat.

Now I just need to add an exercise bit. Okay, I wanted to add that in January and now it's March but...
I'll figure something out

I have been exercising more consistently since February, after I got my workload under better control. Now I just need to up the intensity a bit more.

Alas the diet has gone out the window as the rest of my life has opened up a bit
This summer, I'll be lying low and focusing on my own stuff so working out will enter in that daily routine

I have also been working out more regularly now. More importantly, I have been better at keeping to my diet.

Well, I pigged out like a little piggy with trotters over Easter. I've not weighed myself, but I feel I've a few pounds to lose again. So that one is now about 4.

My problem now is the insane heat. By the time I finish my 1km walk to the office I am exhausted. Then after I walk back to the car at the end of the day...

... I have just enough energy to drive home and collapse on the couch.

Med exam results say I my BMI is at the upper limit of the healthy range, and am at risk for hypertension and high cholesterol. Yay. Low cal high fiber diet needed. And try to do 30mins of exer a day. Which is what I have been trying to do.

Salads for me while Blaze eats whatever he wants. Sigh.

Just got out of the doctor this a.m. and...
I am back down to my normal weight!
I gained 20 lbs in the last year of my relationship (it was a crap time) and it's gone!

Now if I can just get around to exercising ...

Now I'm back to exercising and I've realized a couple things:

#1) I am WAY out of shape. So I'm doing a lot less weight, slower, with more reps as a way of getting my strength back

#2) I hadn't realized how much I socialized at the gym as a gay man in my 20s-30s. I've been out of the gym for a few years so I'm really out of shape. But now that I'm in my 40s, it took me a minute to realize that I just don't care. I have my kindle. I don't need to socialize.

Hopefully, I'll have better results to report by the end of summer.

Good job, Andy!

After 3 straight weeks of overtime I finally started working out regularly again. Over the past week, I've swam once, and done 3 straight days of weights.

Sadly the streak got broken these past 2 days because of more overtime...

AGH... I gained weight - up 6 lbs ... need to stay a little more diligent

PLUS I have to be more consistent with the exercise

Well I took the winter break to get back into working out. I've hit the gym everyday (missed one day due to snowstorm) and been really intense with the cardio and abs.
It's bizarre to have worked out for decades and realized I was never that focused. I guess because the body stuff wasn't so important.
Now I'm 44 (soon to be 45), divorced and dating again. Plus I am tired of being a pudgy middle aged man.

I think I've visibly slimmed down (I thought I lost 7 lbs but I checked this morning and I'm back up to 172) and gotten more definition. I meet up with my massage therapist tonight for drinks and I'll let him make the judgment.
Yeah, he's the one who sees me naked most often

My work have started a step challenge thingy. So that's one of the things for this year, where I'd like to lose 10 lbs at most. Basically, the same drill as last year really. Crumbs! (poor word choice) that was 2 years ago!

The trick is to prevent it creeping back on. Well, I managed it before, so it'll be a piece of cake this time round ( poor word choice)

Looks like the 3 of us are All making progress

I'm not starving myself, but I am definitely eating more reasonably (about as much as Blaze, who is much fitter than I am).

I am also hitting the gym for highly intense workouts two or three times a week

I wish I could swim as well, but the nearest pool is a 20 minute drive, and I need to buy Speedos and a swim cap to use it

I'm upping the intensity of my workouts thanks to Blaze, who is a great trainer. We are aiming for 3x a week.

Diet wise I have become much more conscious about frozen meals. I bought some oatmeal and am eating more fruit too. Also having sandwiches instead of frozen dinners

it can be a bit intimidating because there are a lot of guys fitter than me here. there are also tons who are less fit, I am actually in the upper 25%... but if you consider only the gay men, I drop into the top 50%. Gay men my age? maybe worse, I don't know. There's quite a lot of pressure to be fit in that sense.
