I think our floors (golden oak -- apparently much tougher to afford, or find, in newer homes) are actually our place's best-looking feature.

Hate the "popcorn" ceiling, though. To me the texture looks like cottage cheese, and I've always hated cottage cheese.

Thankfully, on an average day, a person spends more time looking at the floor than the ceiling anyway. laugh

If people were to pass out drunk, while standing up, which way are they more likely to fall?

You know they took all my booze away (or most of it), so someone else will have to test this out in the field... floor... whatever. shrug

Yeah, but I was hoping that someone could use previous experience...

...passing out... tipping over... falling.... falling past notebook...pause to write direction.... thump...

"But why not get them to write when they're on the floor," I pay people to ask me so I can then use their questions to pretend it's something that a lot of people dwell on for message board purposes...

Because, what if they've passed out, then roll over, wake up and then note it down?

That's right! people would end up noticing that the results were wrong, science everywhere would be distrusted and the world would enter a new dark age.

I bet when Richards and Von Doom were still in college, they sat up at night talking about this kind of thing a lot.

Could that be the reason for Doom's mask? Lots of facial injuries after passing out drunk! It all makes sense now!

lol

Alex Robinson, one of my all-time fave writer-artists, did a one-off story about Reed and his college sweetheart: another "big brain" who went on to work for NASA (or something else important). When he built a spaceship for the FF years later, he named it after her. I think only Ben knew why he picked the name.

It also explains that even when locked in hand to hand combat over the fate of the world, witnesses could hear the two men saying "Face Up" or "No, Face Down!" The whole reason for their enmity was due to a fall out over that passing out conundrum.

And let's not forget...

Ben Grimm: Hardened flesh to better withstand falling down drunk.
Sue Richards: Powers suited to breaking curfews and getting more drink unseen.
Johnny Strom: Always available to create flaming shots.

The Fantaschtic >hic< Four, comin' soon form "Libation" Lee and "Krashed Out" Kirby!

So, that's where "banjoed" came from when overindulging!

The banjo is of African origin. I didn't know that for years!

How upset is Ollie going to be when he finds out about Dinah in the kitchen?

Matt Groening's Bongo wouldn't make a very effective crime-fighter, though.

Matthew McConaughey could fight crime playing his bongos nude on his front lawn. Oh wait, he was arrested for that. Never mind.

I think some kinds of crime would increase if he did that again.

Despite what the fearmongers say, the crime rate in the US has been going steadily down

Except on television, where it just keeps going up and up.

I recently binge watched Law & Order: Criminal Intent and thought "I wonder how the actual murder rate in NYC compares to the number of murders in one season of all the Law & Order series (as they are all set in New York)"

If you watch enough Forensic Files you start to feel like everyone must know someone who bumped off their spouse & tried to make it look like an accident/suicide.

Perhaps we all do know someone like that... we just don't know that we do.

Right now I am binge watching One Piece. It is Japanese anime about pirates. It is mostly a comedy. My 2 favorite characters are Sanji, the ship's cook and Robin, the ship's archaeologist. Robin also has devil fruit powers. She can make multiple copies of her body parts, either growing out of her or growing out of other things or people.
