I am too numb right now to form coherent thoughts, but I'll come back here later once I can.

All I can say at the moment is that she was not only a talented actress, but very much her own woman -- both on and off screen -- at a time when such a thing was frowned upon. She was an inspiration to generations of women looking for a sense of self and of inner strength and of liberty while still retaining their femininity.

May she rest in peace, in the celestial paradise that is her just reward.
