They did indeed!
There was a mention in Sandman # 43 of civilizations on Earth that pre-dated the dinosaurs. Given Neil Gaiman's encyclopedic knowledge of DC comics lore, I'd always wondered if that was a reference to this Legion story.

I assume that by Wolfpack you're referring to post-boot Timber Wolf's gang? I wasn't thinking post-boot, but I guess that's an acceptable answer.
I'm not sure I'd heard of the Bone Spikes, but if you can point me to where they are mentioned or appear, you can have the next question.

Yup, Wolfpack is postboot Timber Wolf's crew.
And the Bone Spikes are Postboot too - appearing in Legends of the Legion 1, Ultra Boy's origin.
Venom-crew is another Postboot gang - appearing in Legion Worlds 6.
Okay...
The Legionnaires live in a time which has higher standards for the young - 14 is the age of majority on many worlds in the Reboot, for example. So they had some tough times in the past.
Which character got carded in the 20th century?

CMK has it, it was Inferno! She lied about her age, but forgot to deduct 1000 to compensate for time travel...
and I also figured that the Preboot gangs appeared in the Legion on the Run arc, I remember them heading for Rimbor as their first stop. I just could not remember their names!

I know she appeared in Young Justice as part of the army that invaded Zandia.
I can think of a couple more series she appeared in, but I'll hold off on guessing until the next "round".
I can't remember which of these three were after her mini!

I remember she left in disgust when Bart Allen showed up.
Okay...
In the Reboot Legion's battle against Mordru, the physically-powered heroes went up against Mordru first. The energy-casters and magicians were held in reserve, so Mordru would not absorb their abilities.
However, one hero who most definitely was NOT an energy-caster was also held in reserve, possibly mistakenly. Who was this?

Nope.
Sensor was part of the team dealing with Emerald Violet.
Element Lad was in orbit, kept away from the battle because he had just regained consciousness from being turned to crystal by Mordru.

CMK has it! for some reason Chameleon was grouped with energy casters/magicians like Umbra, Live Wire, Radion, Particon, Dragonmage, Magno (though Magno also pitched in when the more physical heroes went first)
The first wave included those Mordru wouldn’t be able to absorb energy or magic from - M’Onel, XS, Star Boy, Blast-Off, Monstress, Kid Quantum II, with Magno pitching in
Kinetix, Sensor and Mysa had taken Emerald Violet away to separate Vi from the Eye
Invisible Kid was field leader
Element Lad and Andromeda were recovering in orbit
This still remains one of my favorite storylines, and was in my opinion one of the best stories of the Reboot. a truly epic battle with big stakes, surprises and great moments for most
over to CMK

Ruh-roh! At least Cannus proved he was really good at running away from a fight Legionnaires 50 included a pull-out poster with all current Legionnaires, several key supporting characters (mostly Legion support staff), and three future members. (Tellingly, there were two Legionnaires who wuld join just before two of those future members, but they weren't included on this poster). Name the three future members.

Weeeeeell, technically Chuck only became an Honorary Legionnaire, but I never did specify Active vs. Honorary! So you have it!
The last one I was thinking of was Wildfire, who can be seen in his energy form (if you look closely!) beside Magno on the poster. It's very subtle, and Wildfire isn't listed on the Directory at the back.
Ferro just missed being a correct answer by one month - he was offered membership the month before.
Kid Quantum II and Karate Kid are the two future Legionnaires absent from the poster, joining before Thunder and Wildfire but being skipped over here. I don't know if it was because the writers hadn't planned on having them join yet, or if theydidn't want to do too much foreshadowing. Another future Legionnaire who had been introduced, Dreamer, is also absent.
Finally, a good piece of evidence to show that she was NOT a Legionnaire - the female Inferno is absent from the poster, despite being stranded with the 20th century team at the time. The other non-Legionnaire stranded int the past, Shvaughn Erin, is on the poster by virtue of being Science Police Liaison and thus a member of the support staff (also included were RJ Brande, Marla Latham, Chuck and Tenzil. Absent is Rond Vidar, who is an ally but not really a support staff member. Finally, Lori Morning is present in one of her H-Dial forms, Slipstream).
Whew, what a mouthful!
In any case, over to you Not-So-Bad Lad!

The accident that empowered Sun Boy killed at least one other person, but their identity changed between the Silver Age and the 5YL storylines. Can you name both people said to have died in the accident, in the two different eras?

Pre-Crisis, the person was a boy named Zarl Hendricks, I think. Post-Crisis (5YL) the person was a green-skinned girl whose name I forget. Though it should be remembered that that depiction was in the fever dream of a pain-addled Dirk Morgna, so might not have been 100% reliable.

I don't know about pulps, so let me now explicitly limit it to the DC Universe.
Legionnaire Lemon invented element 152, the anti-gravity element of flight rings, not inertron.

It was worth a go Oooh...limiting it to the DCU but not the Legion makes me think it might not have debuted in the Legion. Or is Chaim bluffing? Or does Chaim know that I'll think he's bluffing and...>slap< Was it what the Trapper made his curtain of time out of, even if they called it the "Iron Curtain?"

It was a Legion book in which the appearance I'm thinking of was depicted.

If you're reading Mordru, you still owe the Legion back rent for your stay there.

Not that I'm aware of.
I'll throw a hint: its appearance was in a story set in the late 20th/early 21st century. And it's a contemporary existence of the substance, not a sample of it brought back in time by time-travelling Legionnaires.

OK, we're getting into silly season here. Let me throw out a few more hints:
It was used by the villain or villains of the issue The issue was a 20th/21st century story with a 30th-century framing sequence around it

No.
I'm going to be off-line for the next week or so, so I'll just give it here, and anyone who wants can take the next question.
It was in LSH v4 Annual 2, the Valor origin story, in which the Dominator leadership caste used an inertron shield to try and stop Valor from getting to their escape rocket.

Welcome. The only reason I'm not posting to it is because preboot rereads will get there one day. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone thought of the changes. Not to mention the new additions.

Twasn't Mordru. I'd happily accept the villain that this guy was based on, and the clue to that is in the question.

It was Doctor Savant. I quite liked his science at all costs approach, as well as the nod to Sivana in Thunder's Legion introduction.

Roon Dvron was also almost eaten by a plant, but he had no powers...
I'll guess Universo on the off-chance

Weight Wizard is indeed the correct answer, thoth lad!
Dvron, aside from not having powers, also didn't presumably die by being eaten by the plant, we know he survived the encounter.

Not Wildcat. Very good guess. This was the one I'd have gone for eventually. But it's someone with the outline more than the bulk. Oh, wait, I remember this story now...it was the Creeper! And it was the Creeper. It was in the not very memorable Timberwolf mini series. Over to you Chaim!

Correct, and as to the arm, it was specifically the re-grown arm. (Though since both legs are original equipment, I don't know if there's any significance to that fact, only that it was mentioned.)

Sussa was happy to take over Orando and its people, so she's in the bad guy camp for me. Of course the LSV recruited a number of villains at the one time. Perhaps she simply didn't know how bad things would get.
An assist to Chaim for jogging my memory on this one. New Q soon.

I read Sussa in 5YL before I encountered here during the LSV/Orando War, so my perception of her is colored. If my first encounter with her had been the LSV War, I probably would have a different take...
I'm just glad the Reboot version kept her nose fairly clean. She was greedy, but was not willing to go to the lengths McCauley or Evolvo would. She also often acted as a conscience, speaking out against McCauley's environmental degredation and his willingness to sacrifice the Legionnaires.

Yeah, it's one of those sniffy opinions you get over a fictional character. I don't think I even had it at the time of the LSV story, But that's my positon now, and that's what counts.

I also use the Johnsboot to justify my view of her "Look! The true colours of this rarely used fictional character are clear to all under certain writers! Look at her actions reinforcing my latter day opinion!Look!"

Double ditto for me! - Duo Ibby[/quote] I quite like that she looks for the best option at any given time. Legion - LSV - LSV again and again (Baxter) - freelance - Legion - LSV (Johns).

Sometimes I wonder, would the LSV ever be a "best option"? I guess only if you can't get into the Legion OR if you're a villainous type of personality.
As for the Reboot, well, McCauley definitely paid better than the Legion did. And the threats faced by McCauley's Workforce.... were arguably less dangerous.

I guess only if you can't get into the Legion OR if you're a villainous type of personality Zmyr teleported a number of villains away from Takron Galtos. Not all the villains were taken, so the villains selected them. Spider Girl may have been one of those. If she didn't know the details of the plan then she may not have known how bad things were going to get. She may have acted reluctantly with them, aware of what would happen if she stepped out of line. Even if she knew more than that, what seemed like a fresh start in a new universe might have turned out to be a lot more than she bargained for, including the oath about killing the Legionnaires.

5YL it was retconned that they were all on drugs. The LSV was basically a strung out cult.

True. I remember she was one of the most horrified when Sun Emperor murdered an Orandan serving girl right in front of everyone for no reason...

ah, yes. They had that thing going on in the Johns story. Sussa then hooked up with Earth Man furthering that better option theory from earlier.

True, but before he played with her, one of the regulars offered to play with Inferno and Live Wire for what Ultra Boy implied were the usual stakes...a bit much for those two "macho" posers.

Think violence, not sex.
(for the answer to this question, that is. Not as a rule of life in general.)

Nope, though if it's not done delicately (and in a place like that, I consider it pretty likely), bones are quite likely to get broken in the process of extracting the penalty.

I'll accept that as a correct answer.
The stakes, as stated in the issue, were "A digit a ball." My assumption is that said finger is removed, but broken is a possible interpretation as well.

I'll stick with them being broken, rather than being removed. At least broken digits can still heal.

Nope.
Additional clue below:
Which Legionnaire does Doro resemble?
Doro appeared in the Legends of the Legion mini that gave origins for Spark, Umbra, Ultra Boy and Star Boy. The 4 Legionnaires (and Chuck Taine) shared their origins with 6 school-children who were touring Legion HQ. Though not named, each of the 6 (including Doro) strongly resembled Preboot-era supporting characters, many of whom eventually became Legionnaires in the Preboot.
Not: Star Boy, Ultra Boy
