All i can so is ..... i'm so exited !!!
the next 9 issues are gonna be amazing !!! and we don't have to actually wait 9 months !!! what with the bi-monthly issues, cool !!!
and i don't really mind which Superboy it's gonna be, the 'Foundations' storyline sounds like it's gonna be great !!!
Matthew.

Dead Hero returning? Obviously Element Lad who imho is the only Legion Lost casualty who could return without cheapening Lost.
"a young man will have found his destiny": I think this will be Sun Boy who is supposedly returning.
Apocalyptic darkness? Looks like Darkseid will be returning for real!
I haven't been this excited about the legion in years! Element Lad, Sun Boy, Superboy and Darkseid! And its Bi-Monthly! And Dave cockrum will be drawing some! And Karate Kid and Ferro are returning next issue! And Steve Lightle in two and a half months! Dan and Andy are comic book gods!

It's been suggested over on the regular DCMBs that the "young man" finding his destiny is in fact Cub. Sounds plausible, though I'm not too excited about the story.

This all sounds so exciting, I don't care what happens. I was so caught off-guard by the preview description I had to read it again to take it all in. And then I had to read it again later. And thank god they're not using the 45th anniversary to retell the Legion origin yet again. Although I'm sure my memory exaggerates the effect, for awhile it seemed like every special occasion, annual or cross-over presented yet another retelling of the origin. I'm actually giddy. I'm not even thrilled about Superboy returning, but my anticipation is breathless.
Why are you laughing at me? It's unkind, as well as puzzling!

I agree with the re-telling of the origin thing, Rokk, although I bet it is incorporated into the issue somewhere.
I really liked Kent Shakespear, I have to wonder if the Impulse name is officially available for him...

Some thoughts: They're not retelling the origin, but they are retelling the very first issue. Which is cool, IMO. Bi-weekly? My wallet's going to hate me. So, let me get this striaght: Tony Haris was an aritst on Starman; "A young man finds his destiny"; and Starboy's powers just happen to be screwed up. Add in Dreamer's vision... "A dead hero will have returned." Does this mean there's a chance for pre-boot Jan (possibly bi) to meet post-boot Lyle (probably gay)? This could get interesting.

I hate to judge prior to viewing but is anyone other than myself less than thrilled that Superboy (in any form) is coming back to this book? I remember being quite happy when he was dropped from "Superboy and the Legion of Super-heroes" many years ago and we started to get stories that concentrated more on the other legionnaires. Who needs another character in a book that is already filled to the brim with legionnaires waiting for their time in the spotlight? Of course the bi-weekly aspect will take some of the curse off of that but still. Superboy? Who cares?

I also was happy when Superboy left the Legion all those years ago as I also believed that too many other legionaires weren't being given enough room to grow ......but strangely I'm looking forward to seeing how DnA incorporate him into the current mythos.... so long as it's not Clone-El, we've seen enough of him

I have no interest in seeing Superboy with the team again -- especially since he isn't significant to the postboot team. Maybe that will change after #25?
Will S-boy's involvement only serve to marginalize M'onel's importance and effectiveness in future stories even more?
But a good story is a good story -- we'll see how DnA handle it.

It's just too excited as well. Legion at 45! So old yet so young! Legion bi-wwekly?! The last time i think that happened was way back in TMK...! It's a great time to be a Legion-holic!

Do you think that Wizard poll (Superboy in Legion or Titans) had or will have any influence on the story? I assume the first issue(s) must have been completed by the time that poll was run - don't know what lead time is on comics but it's at least 3-4 months....what were the results of that poll anyways?

No, I don't think the Wizard poll will affect either The Legion or Teen Titans stories. Last I saw the poll was near 64% to 36% in favor of Kon El joining the Titans. That was several weeks ago.

My only plea is:
NO RETCONS!!!
There's been -enough- of that crap with THE LEGION already.
We've gone since ZERO HOUR with an unbroken, unretconned timeline and I'd like it to STAY that way...

So, did we ever figure out who the "young man finding his destiny" was?

Or it could be a young Darkseid who finds his destiny.
