Massive unseasonal snowstorm here in New Hampshire, so we spent the day chainsawing up fallen branches in the backyard. The town cancelled Halloween, and, last I heard, the 'event' for our area was in a local parking lot, where forty-five cars showed up packed with kids and parents, and they lined up in spaces, pretended to be streets, and the kids wandered from car to car, getting candy and showing off their costumes to the others who'd shown up.
It was kind of a neat idea. Some people even decorated their cars a bit, with pumpkins out on the hood, or whatever.
Either way, kids got phat lewt, everyone got to show off their costumes, and nobody had to wait by the door all night or walk more than fifty feet.
Middle daughter asked for help planning out a Black Widow costume, since a bunch of her friends had decided to go to a party together as the Avengers (which thrilled my inner geek), and I was somewhat amused to find out that the 'iconic' black catsuit look was Black Widow's *second* costume, and that the first was less Emma Peel and more
Black Canary.
