I guess it's better than getting your knob out and pretending to be a door...

I went to four Halloween parties on Friday. Then I went to Chinatown the next day. I got treats in some of my classes, so it had been a good holiday.

I was supposed to go to my college class's annual Halloween Party, but was surprised by my wonderful, wonderful significant other.

We spent Halloween dressed up as chocolate-covered gingerbread people - all brown costumes.

Saves lazy me the effort of thinking of a costume - I dressed as a waiter for my last 3 Halloweens. Just dressed up in normal work clothes, grabbed a large white table napkin and bought a bowtie to complete the look.

Friday night I went to a rave as European Club Guy, Saturday I was Gambit, and Monday I was Supermanboy Clark. Plus earlier in the month I attended a Zombie Walk as Herbert West : The ReAnimator.

I put on Old Spice and went as a man!

ok, not really (stole that from the old spice FB page)
With a newborn in the house and all we didn't do much of halloween. We went out for supper as the 31st is Desdemonia's birthday but overall this has been our most subdued halloween in years.

Massive unseasonal snowstorm here in New Hampshire, so we spent the day chainsawing up fallen branches in the backyard. The town cancelled Halloween, and, last I heard, the 'event' for our area was in a local parking lot, where forty-five cars showed up packed with kids and parents, and they lined up in spaces, pretended to be streets, and the kids wandered from car to car, getting candy and showing off their costumes to the others who'd shown up.

It was kind of a neat idea. Some people even decorated their cars a bit, with pumpkins out on the hood, or whatever.

Either way, kids got phat lewt, everyone got to show off their costumes, and nobody had to wait by the door all night or walk more than fifty feet.

Middle daughter asked for help planning out a Black Widow costume, since a bunch of her friends had decided to go to a party together as the Avengers (which thrilled my inner geek), and I was somewhat amused to find out that the 'iconic' black catsuit look was Black Widow's *second* costume, and that the first was less Emma Peel and more Black Canary.

*gasp* I am such a sucker for little kids wearing super hero costumes! A few years ago, there was a little girl at the pre-school where my daughter was going. This girl (3 years old, I think) had long, straight blonde hair, and...she was wearing a Supergirl costume! The costume looked great, and the long blonde hair made her look just like a little Supergirl!
