Amazon duly delivered my copy of this today and as a celebration of Lee's DC work it is an interesting package and Amazon's reduced price made it more interesting.

From the Legion's point of view there is
- a page of costume sketches (that's been knocking about the web for a while
- a full page copy of the Saturn Girl LSH#1 variant (not the full six character montage I had hoped for)
- a couple of pencil pages from the story that followed
- a ten page story featuring a number of Legionnaires from the Saturn Girl bikini era that also features Lee and Paul Levitz!!

Not worth the money for the Legion content alone unless you are an absolute completist

What was the 10 page story about? I'm not sure I can bear to pay the price they're asking for this book, but I bet it's worth it. It hits the CBS up here tomorrow so I will go and check it out for sure.

Whilst it is nice seeing the classic costumes again I think I would have enjoyed just as much if he had used his proposed redesigns instead as some of them look quite funky (Saturn Girl in particular).

I did not really know Jim Lees art except for covers until I bought this but I have to say it is not at all as I imagined and his Ultra Boy looks particularly good.

I have to admit that the pages look gorgeous, but I can't justify buying this book for the 10 pages story alone.
Anyone knows if this will be available somewhere else, or if the book will be released in cheaper softcover?

I finally saw this book at my LCS and the Legion stuff is all towards the end.
It's a cute little story a la "a day in the life of..." plus a characteristic Brainy flub that's kind of endearing. Nice pencils from Lee, no question about that. At one point he even has Wildfire remove his helmet to reveal a human Drake Burroughs.

He definately knows how to draw sexy ladies (especially Dream Girl and Saturn Girl together on the same page, and Phantom Girl is no slouch either! )
His black and white sketches are nice too as are the rest of his drawings throughout the entire book. The man has talent, that's for sure!

Unfortunately for me this is a bit too rich for what it is, and the Legion's presence isn't enough to warrant the cost of the book.
Hopefully Mr. Lee will release those Legion pages as a backup to one of the current monthly titles, or even better, do a one-shot Legion comic himself and have those pages included as well.

We can only dream.
