Issue 11 certainly looks interesting.

And while I'm glad they're collecting issues for a trade (I'll have to grab it for my nephew's birthday), I wish they'd gotten new cover art. It didn't look good in issue 1, and it still doesn't.

Hey guys,

Just in case anyone was curious, I did not write issue # 11. Although I will be doing more Legion issues in the future, this was another solicit error by some folks at DC. I'm not sure who the writer in question is here, maybe J. Torres? Keep in mind, that's just a guess.

And if you have the money to spare, please join me in buying a copy of that trade. It would be great to see these issues continue to be collected in the future, as there are very few Legion trades out there right now.

Thanks,

Matthew K. Manning

One for the short boxes in the basement, one for my nine year old to read, one to leave in the lobby of my daughters' ballet school . . .

Great to hear, Lad. Let's hope they start to trade some other Legion stories in the future. I don't even think that the Great Darkness Saga is still in print...

So, what do you suppose, #11 was written before or the first ep of the new season aired? The timing seems tight, but they fit together extremely well.

Got #11 yesterday, it was fairly cute, solid story (doesn't approach the awesomeness that was #10 but still good).

This issue takes place before the first ep of season 2 but is mostly a flashback tale of when Superman first got there (he doesn't even know how to use his flight ring). Some nice touches, like Clark trying to figure out what a future phone booth is. The fight scene was fun, showcasing a martians powers. But did anyone else feel that you could replace Brainy's speech about J'onzz Jonzz (or however you spell it) and his vision with Islam. I dunno, maybe I just got that on my mind.

Still, nice story, even if the bad guys see the error of their ways rather easily (or at least incapicitate themselves so they can be arrested). But it amuses and that's the point.

I don't mind the comic catching up to the toon as it opens up the type of stories that can be told (either current or flashback) and that is nice. Oh, and great to see Blok, but how come no speaking lines?

Really liked that they tried to tie this issue in with continuity from first season. Lightning Lad mentioned the gate and Clark ending up on Mars in the show. Was interesting to read the story behind it. The comic book seems to be getting better and better. Just wish the stories were a little longer. Seems like as soon as I get into them, they're over. I do like seeing the first season adventures though. So, if the comic book is making the jump to second season, I hope there'll be a lot more flashbacks or archive files like this one. There's a lot that was not filled in from the end of season 1 to the beginning of season 2 (like when the meaning of LSV changed) and still some room for adventures in season 1 that haven't been chronicled by the show. Looking forward to future issues of the comic book.
