Hi, I'm not sure if this is where a post like this goes, so correct me if I'm wrong. My name is Jonathan, I am twenty years old and live in Cardiff, Wales. I've always been interested in the Legion but only just picked up #10 of the Mark Waid run, and I'm really loving it! A little confused at the moment, but I'm sure it will all start clearing itself up. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and introudce myself!

Wow, what a wonderful welcome! I really didn't expect some kindness, thank you! Well, I do have a lot of questions but I won't plague you just yet, I'm looking to get the Legion Archives hardcovers, obviously little by little as they are expensive!

The strange thing is what has always attracted me to the Legion is that I swear up and down that there used to be a Legion cartoon when I was younger! But this seems to not be the case, and I may have instead been watching Super-Friends and got things muddled up in my head. But I'm still pretty sure it was a Legion cartoon! Haha.

The competition sounds like a good idea!

Ok, let's see if I'm wrong or you can expand on this without making my head hurt. There's this United Planets...but is the premise that things are really boring? I mean, what does the Legion actually do? Adnd what happens to planets that go outside of the United Plantes...like Cosmic Boy's? Are people not allowed in or out anymore?

As you've already noticed we're a pretty crazy bunch so jump right in and enjoy.

Hey, be nice to the newbies, boys.

Let's see... it's not so much that the UP is boring, but that it's very ritualized and stagnant. Of course, from a teenage point of view "boredom" is probably an understatment. The legionnaires are shaking things up by talking to each other in person, and going out in public in clothes that don't cover them from head to toe.

What the Legion is really against, though, is the genetic tagging of underagers which allows parents and the goverment to track kids/teens wherever they go. The system's called the Public Service and it has other ways of controling those registered on it. The "flight rings" the Legionnaires where blocks them from the service. Presumably, people are taken off the service when they reach the age of majority, but that's never been proven.

The Legion gets it's inspiration form 21st century superheroes, and have a policy of getting involved when something goes wrong instead of just standing around and waiting for the officials to handle it. (Much to the annoyance of said officials. )

We don't really know much about what happens when a planet leaves the UP. In the recent situations, the planets are hoping to avoid a war, so cutting off contact from the rest of the UP is probably an attempt to stay neutral. Won't work, though.
