Not sure how much traffic this will see, but oh well.

Saw this tonight and thought it was pretty good. Enough story and action to keep it moving.

Depp does his thing, but its more subdued and natural than you might think...at least to me it was.

Hammer does a good job as The Lone Ranger.

William Fichtner is great in this. It took me a whikle to recognize that it was him as I did not know he was in this movie...he's turning into one of my favorite character actors.

It does go a little long in places, but actually keeps things moving rather well for the mos part.

Anyone else take the plunge.

Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.

Not a big pull for me. Loved me some Louis L'Amour westerns, and I like watching a good one. But Lone Ranger is right there with Cavalry movies, just never got into them.

Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!

Something pithy!

I've had zero interest since the cast and producers/director were announced. I love the Lone Ranger, but I just knew this wasn't a version I wanted to see. Dynamite Comics gave them a terrific blueprint in their initial Matthews/Cariello series. Why not simply adapt that? It never had to be a big budget summer blockbuster extravaganza. Just tell the story and schedule it for fall or spring and people would love it. *sigh*

Still "Lardy" to my friends!

^^Exactly. If you have to do it as a movie, go for something subdued and moody, but, even better, do it as a tv series.

I'm with Lardy and Eryk. That said, I love westerns and love the characters, so I'll certainly be taking the plunge eventually.
