Well, this almost certainly relates to whatever the massive change in the DCU that the Legion is supposed to be ahead of the curve on this time.

Random guess: It's Superboy of Earth-Prime pounding against the Iron Curtain of Time.

It's John Byrne pounding away at the idea of having to do something fresh and innovative.

Wow, Kent. Synchronicity.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the other nystery of the story. What does Superboy's head have to do with anything? Does the Persuader want it just as a trophy or is there some deeper meaning to that bit? Seems to me they were going to a LOT of trouble just to decapitate Kon-el without any real profit in it. Could it have something to do with the stash they were after way back when T-Wolf joined?

I was kinda hoping it would be a hypertime wave that is rushing backwards in time. This wave would be the main weapon of the badguy in next year's big DCU event celebrating the anniversary of the Crisis on Infinite Earths.
