I finished to read Superman & Batman 8, and was a fantastic new introduction of Kara Zor-El in this current DC Universe.
No more Matrix, Angel and Linda.
The one and only Kara, the real Supergirl.
I'm very, very happy!
After almost 20 years of the infamous Crisis, one of the most powerful females in comics returns in all her glory.
She has a important past in The Legion.
Maybe we can see Kara in a figth with Andromeda in a near future for Brainy's love.
Welcome home Kara.
Now, I only wish the real Projectra in The Legion soon, very soon!

superman before john byrnes runied him and screwed up the rest of the superman family.

I'd feel better about this if I wasn't so worried about her being murdered in the coming Identity Crisis arc. Hopefully, I am way off base.

Yeah, I'll believe it when she survives.

I skimmed through the issue at the store but didn't buy it.

What are they going to do with Matrix/Supergirl? Or has she already been done away with? And who was the other Supergirl that appeared in her book recently? What happened to her? Somebody help me out here. I don't read anything but Legion anymore, but Kara was one of my favorites, so I'm dying to know what's going on.

  • Ah, this could take a while...</font><ul type="square">
  • <font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Matrix body... ummm... I think it died. Don't quote me on that
  • Matrix mind - merged with Linda Danvers' body. Later seperated and currently merged with Twilight.
  • Linda - P.O.ed @ the world, sent her costume to Clark with what was basically a resignation letter (including a "don't try to find me" clause)

</font></li></ul><font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">And who was the other Supergirl that appeared in her book recently? What happened to her?

  • Do you mean Kara or Linda?</font><ul type="square">
  • Linda wore a white top/blue skirt after she got split from Matrix. See above
  • Blue costume - Pre-Crisis Kara, sent back to Hypertimeearth-1 to die in the Crisis

</ul><font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">We'll pretend Cir-El never existed. Just confuse you wink

I'm already confused. Just how many Supergirl wannabes is DC going to throw at us? mad

Oh to wake up and see Patrick Duffy coming out of the shower (hubba hubba) and discover that everything from Crisis onwards was a bad dream!

Jim if you like the Precrisis Kara you should pick up the trade that collects the last issues of the Supergirl series. David brought her back in all her glory, and it was a great read. I can't remember the name of it, but Many Happy Returns sounds rite.

As far as the Supergirls go:
Matrix/Linda - retired
Kara from the last Supergirl story - gone
Cir-El Supergirl - gone as of Superman 200 (thank god)

That leaves it wide open for the new Kara Zor-El that showed up in the current Superman/Batman arc. I think that after all the miss steps DC is going to do rite here and keep this Kara around. At least I hope so.

And just to confuse you more, Lee, from Peter David's Fallen Angel, may be our post-crisis Linda Danvers.

I'm agreed with Josum64. John Byrne doomed the precious legion's history.
And for the post-zero hour writers... somethigs are good, like Triad, Invisile Kid, Ferro.
But... For me others thigs are wrong.

Cosmic Boy withou Lydda.
The combo Jan-Garth.
The death of Gim Allon.
Sun Boy without powers.
The two souls inside Wildfire.
The silly super-nun Andromeda.
Umbra? Why not Shadow only?
A good character like Spider Girl lost in Limbo.
And the worst sacrilege : the snake-sensor and the stupid coil's planet named Orando.
For the good times, I want a hypercrisis saga soon with The Legion in all the glory.
