Considering how Dick shut Ollie down during the JLA "Obsidian Age" arc, I was surprised that didn't happen.

Hee hee! [/b]So I should be embarrassed that I was? Hell, half the time I look for errors more than paying attention to the story any more. My attention span isn't what it used to be.

So there's Grace in Outsiders and Faith in JLA...should we be expecting heroines named Charity, Peace, Hope and Love in the other team books?
Grace's "regenerating" power is nothing more than Wolverine's healing factor.
Anyone else notice the costume discrepancy on Black Lighting between him on the cover and then on his appearance inside? -to bare the chest or not to bare the chest, that is the question.
As much as I love Huntress' appearance in Outsiders, it doesn't look to be permanent, and I'm still wondering if I should hang on to this title. If CM Jr. joins this team for good, this title looks to be a reworking of that Titans line-up that had CM Jr., Supergirl, and Kyle as GL. With the tougher language and tone of this book, why don't we just call this the "Dark Titans" Team.

You should only hang onto the book if you are enjoying it.

Y'know, I've noticed that a lot of guess stars in this title. Green Arrow, Connor Hawk, Huntress, Black Lightning and now Captain Marvel Juniour. That's roughly a guest star for every other issue so far.
Isn't this books suposed to be about the Outsiders, and not this month's guest star?

I'm undecided on the art. In some panels I love it; in others, I can't stand it. I think it has something to do with the faces -- sometimes they just look a little... off. Not sure why.
But as long as Captain Marvel Jr. is around, I'll stick with the title!

SPOILERS
Great, great, issue. And a beautiful cover, like Lash said!
Highlights:
-Captain Marvel Jr. in action, and kicking ass. Even more, acting like the true hero that he is. I really liked the way that Winnick was able to show how different he is than Grace, and the scenes they had at the end were nice. Good writing on his part--showing Marvel Jr. as a 'boy scout', but in a very good light.
-Huntress- just can't get enough of her. I hope she stays around for a bit. Even if she only had one or two lines (hey, they were still funny!)
-Nice action packed fight sequence with Sabaac, with fun dialogue. It really seems like we just don't get enough of these anymore.
-Some nice Black Lightning scenes, especially with Thunder. I never really had much of an opinion on Black Lightning before this, but after this issue, I think I'm starting to like him.
-Good scenes with Pete Ross acting as President! I love seeing that, especially since he was once an Honorary Legionnaire! Good clear presidential decisions and honorable friendship with Black Lightning.
-Oh, and I really like the art lately!
Indigo is still my favorite though!

SPOILER ************************************************* ************************************************* ************************************************* ************************************************* * * * * * * * * * * * * I did not like Winnick making Timothy Karnes Freddy Freeman's brother. That came from left field. I don't know if it was established post-Crisis, but at one point Kid Eternity was Freddy Freeman's brother.

SPOILERS * * * *
Quis, I don't think that Winnick is the one who made Tim Karnes Freddy's brother. I'm pretty sure (but not positive) that Jerry Ordway did this in the "Power of Shazam" series a few years ago, or someone else did along the way.
I didn't know about Kid Eternity being his bro though. I wish I was more knowledgable about the Marvel family!

Cobalt Kid,
I kind of thought it was odd that Judd didn't do any background. So it make sense now knowing it was from a previous story.
The Kid Eternity/Freddy Freeman as brothers happened in the Dollar size Adventure stories back in the 80's (I think) I think the two characters were originally published by two different publishers.
It kind of follows the Freddy/Tim Karnes story in that when orphaned they were split up, ut each went to a different grandfather. In the story that established the relationship, Freddy who was supposed to die was saved by Captain Marvel and "Kip" who wasn't supposed to die, did. This was the mix-up (they were also twins) in Mr. Keeper's book which is why Kid Eternity got his powers.

OUTSIDERS continues to be a colossal favorite of mine, and you SHAZAM fans should be aware one of the big red Cheese's biggest foes is currently making life miserable for the team AND for the Fearsome 5 (now 4).
Raney's art is improving every issue; he's well on his way to superstar status.

I'm glad that Freddy didn't stick around in this title; the tone is all wrong for him.
Actually, I'm considering dropping it because I honestly don't like any of the new characters, and it's making me not like the characters I already liked (*coughRoycough*)... but I'm like a detective trying to gather all the evidence, or something. Even though every issue is a kick in the ribs as far as characterisation goes, and honestly I think they're trying to be really hip and pop-y and falling flat... I need to keep track of what they're doing, with Roy and Dick, and also to see if something regarding Donna Troy will turn up. I'm a little miffed that this group who are supposedly trying to keep track of the supervillains haven't been doing a good enough job to track down the organisations the baddies have been making - the one in Identity Crisis, the New Rogues, etc. ..Nor have there been any reactions to the return of Brother Blood, Raven, or Jericho over in Titans. What, they don't read their email? No one thought to tell Blood's favourite victim/target, Dick Grayson, that the cult is on the rise again?
......!
