I always keep a full-size jar of unsalted, dry-roasted peanuts in my desk drawer at work. Then, if I get the munchies between breakfast and lunch, I don't have to pay inflated snack prices at the convenience store down the street.

From what I understand, a lot of Lucy was based on his first wife, though they called his daughter Meredith a fussbudget, which contributed to the character. I wonder if maybe Linus was a composite of both of Meredith's younger brothers, Monte and Craig. I've always related best to Charlie Brown, Linus, and Schroeder. It's interesting that the three primary human male characters are also the most sensitive. Yes. That shows how well Schulz saw the complexities in humanity. But then OTOH, I related best to the non-human character Snoopy.
Still "Fickles" to my friends.

I used to get this kind of stuff from Trader Joe's when I had an actual office and desk. Now I have the whole kitchen at hand and it's been a disaster.

My man and I use prevention as a diet aid: we simply don't buy things like candy, cola, chips...

I've been very good since January and have lost 22 pounds as of last Monday.

In 3 months? that is seriously impressive, Rocky! well done!
I don't weigh myself, but I have been dieting and hitting the gym as well. My husband sees the difference, as does my tactless friend who, about 8 months ago, said I was getting fat... and repeated it through text message even after we went home.

I did a diet plan for this week, and shopped accordingly.

Prevention is the best way, i.e., not buying unhealthy snacks at the grocery

I'll never have a scale in my house again unless it's at gunpoint.

I also never say things like, "I'll CUT OUT this or that from my meals, yadda yadda. " I get extremely twitchy when I hear it from others, too.
I'm just trying to make up a shopping list here, People. Not to co-star in yet another *Saw* sequel. [rolleyes]

I dug out the scales today. It said "lo" which I take to be "low weight" and not some kind of balance issue with it.

I've been on WW (Weight Watchers). It worked for me before. There are no forbidden foods. It's all about keeping track and making better choices. I also am good about banking my points so I can have a big splurge every weekend.

[deep breath]
...
Love you all, but I'd really appreciate if this subject could be moved to the Dieters Support Thread from here on in. It's a thread I never venture into because of my *severe* mental/emotional issues surrounding dieting and weight loss.
When I posted my earlier comment about the stash of peanuts, I didn't expect it to lead to all this. I brought it up only because I was pleased to be able to save a buck or two at work every week.

Sorry Cleome.
I worked out how much I spent just on some things the other day, and could definitely save a buck or two. Nothing I'd miss.

Sorry Cleome, and thanks for being honest about it Ok on to other things! I got horribly drenched in the rain yesterday. When I left home, it was cloudy but dry. When I was on the way back, it was raining terribly.

Thank you, Friends. We had hail here yesterday. Usually, it comes in late spring or early summer. Thankfully it didn't last long.

I'ts been cold here the last few days. Just in time for energy prices to rocket. When I turn on the radio the stories are either the war in Ukraine or bleak things here. I'm just glad that 1000 years from now, it all gets better and there are teenagers with superpowers protecting us.

Hmmm. I say we have a virtual bonfire. Let us remind us of what binds us together as well as celebrate it. I have no idea how to do that, however.
