Looks kind of fun.

New series from Mark Waid focused on the Silver Age Titans.

My girl Emanuela Lupacchino is drawing it! YAY TO THE MAX!!

Ema's Gymlls forum thread:

That alone guarantees I'll buy the first issue! But there's so much more potential goodness, what with Mal and Karen. And teen Donna without the ponytail, yes! (Sorry, Teeds.)

Thanks for the heads up, EDE!

Waid can be hit or miss for me, sometimes great and sometimes meh, but I have enjoyed what he has been doing lately on World's Finest. This sounds like it could be really interesting.

As for the art, thanks for the comments and link Ann. Looking at some samples of her work it does look beautiful and definitely has me looking forward to seeing more from her.

I honestly think World's Finest is probably the spiritual successor to All-Star Superman, or could be considered the "Earth-1" concept executed right compared to the unevenness of the graphic novels. If you called it its own timeline, the enjoyability wouldn't change. And while Waid's done a few deep cuts to DC history, the book's still accessible to casual readers.

Love seeing Bumblebee front and center with the classic team. I've always been a fan of all these original characters, so it's great to maybe get to see some 'untold tales' of that era.

So I thought the first issue was a lot of fun! Definitely capture the feel of the Silver Age Titans, but set in the world of social media!

Lash would've loved the use of Golden Eagle! Can't wait to see what he does with other characters!

Sounds nice, but I have had to admit to myself recently that Mark Waid just doesn't float my boat anymore.

I might still look at it for Ema's artwork, but I'm honestly not into the concept. I'm not even really sure anymore what exactly I want out of a modern superhero comic.

All that said, I'm happy for EDE and others who are enjoying it and wish them more fun reading ahead.

This series continues to be fun. Loved the use of Lilith and Gnarkk in the 2nd issue. The third issue didn't quite work as well as the first two for me, but was still enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Not mind-blowing awesome comics, but a good read.

That is my take as well - it's fun, and it's not multiverse-shattering stakes (which I'm really exhausted with at the moment) and we're getting lots of cute character bits with some lush art! I am digging it smile

Yeah, the comic book equivalent of a palette cleanser. Just kind of light and fluffy, which is nice. Seeing Gnark and Lilith was a surprise, and now I'm wondering if Duela Dent or Charlie Parker will make an appearance.

Charlie has been in it actually! He is their social media guy smile

I got high hopes for Duela because I think she'd be really fun with this writing!

I'm expecting all of the pre-NTT members to show up eventually.
