I have little interest in watching the live action remakes of the Disney movies. I'd rather just watch the animated films again. Yeah, I'm with you on that. A couple of the early ones were good (I'm thinking specifically of Cinderella and Maleficent,) but diminishing returns set in very quickly.

That's how I generally feel about live-action adaptations of superhero comics. Not for me.

Movies in general don't appeal to me. not because they're bad, but because of how my brain works. I prefer to read or play games, where I can control the speed... with movies and TV shows, my greatest annoyance is when things happen too slowly.

Board games that are on timers can be quite stressful. It also helps to have nice players in a co-op game, and be nice to others, as mistakes will happen.

"Pandemic" is one of our fave games, because it is cooperative. It really helped us learn how to work together as a couple

Our RPG group plays board games occasionally , so we were well used to working as a team, a big help in some games. I do think it's important that everyone gets to relax, enjoy themselves, and feel they played a part. I've seen in passing, and certainly heard of plenty of groups with certain players who think they are alpha players, whereas they are just rather sad with poor social skills.

Yeah, in the forums of that game I play, there was a guy who kept loudly proclaiming how good a player he was because he used a certain strategy. and he kept calling users of another strategy people who play lazily then he'd get surprised at people telling him off. "Why? I just said the strategy was lazy. Didn't say directly that the player was lazy. In an unrelated topic. In all the unrelated topics..." he's not around anymore

In a group that meets socially to play RPGs and board games, you really do have to have some basics in respect for others. There are other groups with dysfunctional rules lawyers, self professed alpha gamers, and those whose emotional age never reached double digits. I've seen examples of them all, but they don't last long in a group of grown ups. Quite often because they just didn't grow up. I've had people wonder why they were slowly/suddenly dropped from groups. Using that basic respect for others, I try and find positive ways in which they can be less of a tool in future.

Learning how to learn is a significant step in breaking habitual thought cycles.

Some of us are works in progress, always learning and evolving.
Too many of us never learn, and get more stupid all the time.

I know some people so afraid of making the "wrong" decision, that they never decide anything. and they never grow as a result

Funny because he can actually do and try more things without fear of consequences... if one of his dupes gets killed skydiving for example, main Madrox is still alive...

Yeah, but he's terrible at making decisions, because he always ends up arguing with all his other selves.

As do I. I'm not proud of it, but I have no problem admitting to it.

Thanks, Ibby.
Sometimes I'm still shocked at how many otherwise decent and intelligent people nonetheless lack self-awareness!

So many people told me how I lacked self awareness, that I became one with the cosmos, and more importantly launched a successful line of self help books. Read more in Obtuse Success, available from all Omnicon feeds.

The thing it makes you aware of above all else, is how little you actually want it. Every bad habit in every system in the cosmos all feeding into your awareness. No escape from every flush across the galaxy.
