I can't wait to read LSH #48! They would do well to continue this series! (Turtle Boy is a much better name, though.)

Anyway, does the Terror Titans series count as a Legion AR appearance since the Persuader is a member?

I agree re: Turtle-Boy.

And yes, I'd count any appearance by the 20th century female Persuader as an A/R item, at least until we get confirmation that he ax and the one belonging to our boy are, in fact, not one and the same.

no Dream Boy? Where's he? He's having a Disappearing Syndrome like Phantom Girl and Matter Eater Lad used to have before way back in the early issues of Adventure Comics.

Yeah I noticed no Dream Girl either - she might still be a "ghost".

Good riddance Dream Boy!

In Titans thread, it has been mentioned and questioned if the Persuader is the daughter or some relation to Cole Parker....She made her first appearance a few months ago in Teen Titans I think #63 or something.

Sizzle will be the traitor ala Nemesis Kid and Turtle will be the sacrifice ala Ferro Lad. Night Girl joins the Subs and Gazelle joins the Legion?!

Anyways, that cover has me excited as well!

Oooo, what a glorious cover! Lydda’s garter is a little touch of genius.

And I just love the body language and facial expressions of the various Legionnaires: Jo (relaxed, confident), Brin (intrigued), Cham (gossip monger), Jan (bemused), Ayla (bored), Garth (looking more leaderly now) and Imra (pissed, marginalized).

Turtle Boy is definitely the Ferro Lad analog – nothing can pierce his body armor! (But watch out for those snapping jaws.)

Yeah, that arms-crossed picture of Imra is very interesting. She looks very 'closed off' right there.

Well, regardless about how I feel about any boot, there's not a doubt in my mind that this is the best threeboot cover yet. Like Tromium said, its glorious!

My guess is Imra gets slapped down and sidelined for what she did to cops on Rimbor – she broke her vow not to mind-jack unless absolutely necessary in the line of duty.

And based on last month’s solicit, she gets kicked out of bed, too. That alone is enough to make a girl really irritable. wink

I'm really thrilled to see Lydda in any form, and I'm happy to see that new costume. This one is cute, at least from the back. If there are great big cut out owl eyes in the front, I shall be dampening my enthusiasm.

Having made several of the Night Girl costumes for my oldest daughter, I can tell you that the beehive is a secret weapon in itself. You get enough Aquanet...of Space on that teased beehive, you can knock someone out cold with it. We theorize that's what Night Girl uses to fight crime with during the day when she doesn't have her powers. I don't think that French twist will work nearly as well.

And if she's the traitor, I won't be happy.

Could Sizzle be the threeboot Inferno?

Apparently, the idea of a traitor is Click Here For A Spoilernot correct:.

Here is what Jim Shooter says about what's coming next:
Click Here For A SpoilerLet’s see... there will be a bunch of new opponents introduced, four new Legionnaires, an engagement, a tragic death, major changes in a couple of long-established Legionnaires, two returns, two departures and a partridge in a pear tree.

But how many of these newcomers are going to survive Lo3W?

"two returns" - I like this the most. Hopefully its not Cos or Annoying, er, Dream Boy, but Sun Boy, Tenzil or Wildfire. The latter two especially.

I hope all the applicants on the cover stick around for a few issues. It's nice to see another alien (Turtle) in the group shot. With a red skinned Sizzle and a more alien-looking Gazelle, I think we'd have more of the diversity a galactic group should have.

Bring back Blok and Quislet, too!

Minor indeed, because this is a great work. Hope to see you sticking around for a long time at the Legion, in spite of all gossip.

A bit off-tune from the Legion... but here goes:
KABLAM - http://dccomics.com/dcu/comics/?cm=10555

Expected? FDR is rolling in his grave... but hopefully not.

The JSA plotlines are getting more and more peculiar. We already know the direction(s) the group was heading way back when the IRL Rip Hunter blackboard appeared in DC Nation, if I'm not mistaken, but I feel like the value of the upcoming issues has gone down much with their midriff-revealing descriptions... at least the earlier ones were vague enough to be released before its story arc had even began.

Check out the other JSA specials. Little excited about Thom's 'real mission' and if it has links with Lo3W. Probably.

Back to the Legion. Lydda for the hat trick... and with a quasi-modernized hairdo? Too bad they'll be reserved to a one-shot plot device like the Legion stories of the old. Sseeing that this series is bound to conclude, I say we sit back and enjoy its rather jam-packed twilight. (Awaiting the "enemy rising"... counting the Dominators aside, which were involved in a multi-issue plot... how would you rate the combined significance of Threeboot's supervillains? cool )

"For some reason I can't explain or understand, and probably never will... EVERYTHING comes from SUPERMAN." - Alexander Luthor, Jr.

Unfortunately, the Legion is no exception.

let's review the four new would-be legionnaires on the LSH cover ala annotations:

Gazelle - Giselle Smith
Home Moon: Triton
Abilities: biological control over metabolism, thus utilizing reserve energy for uncanny feats

Turtle - ???
Homeworld: Doopa (might want to check #40-41)
Abilities: nigh-invulnerability (#41, first few pages)

Night Girl - Lydda Jath
Homeworld: Kathoon
Abilities: super-strength when not in direct sunlight

Sizzle - ???
Homeworld: Velmar (speculative, given her resemblance towards the Ikonns)
Abilities: ??? (maybe microwave radiation manipulation like Firestar or pyrokinesis akin to Shyleen Lao)

I adore that applicant cover so much. Great work, Francis!

Beautiful JSA: The Kingdom cover as well, probably for playing off my love of big groups of super-heroes flying through the air. Wonder what team taught me that? wink

If you enlarge the cover and look closely at her ...ah...chest, there is an owl at least on the left side, though it doesn't look like a cutout.

Other: With a name like Gazelle, is she fast or graceful?

Does anyone know anything about this?

DC Comics Classic Library: Legion of Super Heroes - Life and Death of Ferro Lad (Hardcover) Amazon says it will be released on February 10, 2009.
