I haven't gone to work drunk in like nine months. I'm slipping

I just fininshed my last big paper of the semester (I had three due this week, two long and one short-but-very-specific). I'm allowing myself a day of laziness before starting the next two (short ones) and studying for finals.

I've lived in four years ending in 7. In each one I've lived in a different state.

Will Smith saved a cat in Men in Black, Enemy of the State and I, Robot. Or so I heard.

Harry Potter is the only movie I've seen in theaters in the past 12 months... but it was in Imax, so it was even cooler.

My boyfriend just called to say he won't be home from his business trip tomorrow, and that he doesn't know when he'll be back.

I've been looking at some old Blackhawk covers from the 60's, and I'm pretty sure I'm in love with Lady Blackhawk now. She's great in Birds of Prey currently...but those 60's Silver Age artists knew how to tickle Mama Cobalt's eldest son's fancy!

So, Saturday morning 2am I wake up because of pain in my left side. I called the on-call doctor for my primary care physician. She said that it could just be constipation (seeing how I said I had been having some constipation off & on for a month or two) but that she could not tell over the phone.

I decided to call a cab (I don't have a car and the subway stops running between 12:30 and 5am) and go to the emergency room. I arrived at the emergency room at about 3am. At the emercency room, I explain my symptons. The doctor says "We'll take some x-rays and try some Maalox mixed with something else" (I forget what) So I do the x-rays and when I came back from that, the Maalox solution was there for me. The additional stuff numbed my throat and I did vomit a little after drinking it. The nurse also asked me for a urine sample.

They also did an EKG on me. In between each thing it seemed like hours passed. There was a TV in the bay that I was in and I turned it on at about 5:30. A new doctor came in with the results of my urine sample and x-ray. The x-ray did not show any blockage, but the urine sample had trace amounts of blood in it. The Doctor said that she thought I may have a kidney stone and wanted to run a CAT scan. I was still in pain, so I agreed, At this time the doctor had the nurse give me some Motrin and some Percocet.

I had the CAt scan and came back down to wait for the results. About an hour after having taken the medication, I was out of pain. The CAT scan showed that I did have a small kidney stone. The doctor said that it was small enough to pass on its own. She wrote me a perscription for Motrin, Percocet, and some anti-nausea medication. By this time it is 8 am. I then left to go home. I stopped by the pharmacy first (it opened at 9)

The medication is helping with the pain. I have to strain my urine, hoping to catch the stone. The doctor said that it could pass in a couple of days or a couple of weeks. My stone is located right at the kidney (the highest place it could be) It has to travel through the ureter to the bladder then from the bladder out.

So, now I must drink lots of water and hope that it passes sooner rather than later.
