Seeing the return of some of the original Legion in Justice League and the upcoming Action story arc as well as the Fatal Five in The Brave and the Bold, I was thinking it could be a cool idea for there to be a return of the Originals in a monthly format.
My thought would be to bring them back in the Vertigo line. Having the team face threats of a more mature nature as well as making some of the older villains darker to match the line.
I am a fan of the newer versions of the Legion but to be honest I miss the original incarnation that I grew up with.
So does anyone else think this would be a good idea?

Power Boy not sure if you read volume #4 but it was basically your idea.
There are various debates going on by what "original" Legion means. Depending on what DC is selling as an original Legion I'm for it. And to be honest when it comes to the "original" I'm pretty open minded as long as there are no major retcons I will be happy. And obviously the stories have to be high quality.
Legion? Vertigo? I would do a mini here or there. Heck I always wanted a Vertigo type series for Mon-El.

I'm shocked Beppo the Super-Monkey hasn't received his own Vertigo series already.

I welcome Legion stories from all eras (there's good and bad to all of them quite frankly). I just wouldn't make it Vertigo related. With 52 universes running around, I would think there's room for more than 1 Legion team!!

By original I am refering to the Legion that started in Adventure #247 and continued into the 1980s. The ones with Mon-El, not Valor or M'Onel. The Legion that at times could be campy but also had some of the singularly best storylines such as The Great Darkness Saga and the Earth Wars.

As was the war thing from the other company. If they've opened the multiverse back up then yeah, I'd love to see them back in action in another universe. Heck, if they did that then they could bring back the original Superboy and Supergirl to the team as well.

Not sure if there was a monkey in it though, super or not.[/b]No We3 was an homage to the genre of children's movies where a dog is lost and separated from his family (who's moved from New York to California) and so the dog sets off to be reunited with them. Along the way he meets a psychotic cat and a dopey bunny and they have some adventures along the way. Only in We3 there's a cool Grant twist.

Don't laugh TOO loud. The managed to sell the Krypto series complete with a group of friendly animal allies and goofy animal villains. The Legion of Super Pets isn't very much farther down that very same profit path. Toys, video and DVD and best of all 232 tons of new merchandise with the big red S emblazoned on it. I mean, who wouldn't want a stuffed monkey in a Superman outfit? anyway... What's this thing going on with Val? Resurrected with some mysterious ailment? What the heck?
