The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers that build off of each other by adding them together. Starting with 0 and 1, the sequence continues 1 (0+1),2 (1+1), 3 (2+1), 5 (3+2), 8, 13, 21, 44, 65, etc.
Fibonacci did not invent the sequence, but learned it from Arab scholars and introduced/popularized it in Europe.

Donald Duck's costumed hero alter ego, Paperinik, was created in Italy in the late 1960s by editor Elisa Penna, writer Guido Martina, and artist Giovan Battista Carpi. It was partly a parody of Italy's iconic costumed anti-hero, Diabolik.

Attempting to devise a real life use for the Fibonacci sequence has thus far completely stymied me.
I shall however redouble my efforts. This puzzle must be solved!

members of the Barbie Liberation Front would but talking Barbies (one of their sayings was, "Math is hard!") and talking GI Joes, open them up and swap voice chips, so GI Joe would have Barbie's voices/sayings and vice versa.
They would then bring them back to the stores and mix them in with the regular stock, so that unsuspecting customers would (re)buy them.

Bought a nice pair of sandals at a yard sale yesterday. Also picked up three pairs of shoes from the repair shop. Later I have to polish my workboots, because they're looking a little beat.
I still think that the spouse actually owns more pairs of shoes than I do.

Fresh Cucumber "Pickle" Salad Click Here For A SpoilerIngredients: 5-6 small pickling cucumbers, or 1 large regular Cucumber, peeled if the skin is waxed. Ends trimmed off and sliced thin or thick as you prefer. Halve or quarter the slices if you prefer a more "relish-y" texture to your salad. 1 T. White Sugar 1 t. Salt Scant 1/4 C. of Red or White Onion, chopped medium-fine 1/4 C. White Vinegar 1/8 C. Olive or other Vegetable Oil 1 T. Cold Water Generous 2 T. Fresh Dill, chopped 1/4 t. ground Black Pepper Generous Pinch of ground Cumin seed 1/2 t. Caraway Seeds Generous Pinch of Celery Salt (optional) Dash of Angostura Bitters (optional) Directions: 1) Place the sliced cucumber in a large bowl and sprinkle the slices with the sugar and salt. Stir gently to coat them as evenly as possible with the sugar and salt. Cover and let sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes. 2) Add the chopped onion, plus all liquid ingredients (except the Angostura), stir gently again. 3) Add all remaining ingredients, stir gently again. Refrigerate, covered, for 1/2 hour. 4) Taste and correct seasonings as you like. (Some people find the brine a bit strong and like to dilute it with a bit more water. Some people like more salt, some more sugar. Pepper fans like to add more black pepper, or a bit of cayenne or even a shake of hot red pepper flakes. Experiment ! ) Chill again and serve. Makes about four servings. Keeps 4-6 days in the fridge.

Choir humor can be summed up simply: Tenor makes smartass remark. Bass laughs. Soprano complains that they're being childish. Alto ignores everyone.
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

I prefer the look of Suse to Ubuntu but Suse seems to be a resource hog which is odd. However the real problem is the RPM which takes forever to resolve dependencies during patches. Synaptic and its Debian packages wins.

I went to the foot doc today and got prescribed anti-inflammatory meds and a mini-brace.
On the plus side, he agreed with me that the nurse practitioner the HMO insisted I go to first was... er, not the sharpest tool in the shed. (She diagnosed a problem I clearly didn't have, then wrote me a prescription for some stuff my previous GP had told me to not take, based on my medical history. Pphht. I don't think all nurses are idiots, BTW. Just this one.)
On the minus side, I'm so spaced out from the meds right now that I can barely sit upright in my chair. Oy.

For a while I consulted over in England, and I loved picking up English idioms. One of my favorite is the phrase "I can't be arsed" basically meaning, "I can't be bothered". Though I'd love to incorporate that into my vernacular, I don't have enough panache to actually use the pronunciation "arse" so the few times I've tried to Americanize it and say, "I can't be assed," people always misunderstand and say, "You can't be asked to do what?"
