Thanks to some birthday money, I was finally able to take the plunge into the Silver Age LSH. I chose Volume 6 (reprinting Adventure Comics # 350-358), because I really wanted to read the first appearance of the Fatal Five (Adventure # 352-353).
I am truly amazed. Forty years later, the first Fatal Five story is still powerful, thrilling, shocking, and heart-breaking. The kind of story which the term "timeless" was invented for.
The rest of the stories in this volume didn't make nearly as much of an impression on me, but I'm sure that as I re-read them, they'll grow on me and I'll post about them here.
And of course, I'll add another LSH Archive volume to my collection once I have some extra money again.

I find the Archives are the "gifts that keep on giving". I enjoy reading the stories from them more than recent Legion issues - from the 90's on.

I love my Archives. I still need to find a copy of #6 and #12 to complete the set.

My collection is complete...and I'm waiting for a few more issues from the 200's of Superboy/LSH to complete a complete run of Legion comics. I'm trying to keep myself from rereading the Archives until I can read all the way through from Adv247 through the present day.

Does anyone know if there are plans to continue the LOSH archives? I haven't seen a new one in quite some time. Ready for another volume of Wolfman/Perez "New Teen Titans" as well.
Thanks! Biff

It's pretty clear that there is another volume in the works, but it's not clear exactly when it will be coming out. I don't believe it's on the schedule for this year.

Economically, continuing the archives doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Even getting them from Amazon for 30% off, volume 13+ would be more expensive than tracking down the original issues. Being printed on the glossy stock is a plus, I suppose.

And easy to read without grabbing your old issues out of their plastic bags. I want Archives up until yesterday.

True. Whenever somebody asks for reference scans, it's easier to look it up in an Archive than to pull out the shortboxes and dig out a particular issue.

The funny thing is that I probably have about half the issues that would be included in the next Archive. I don't feel any real push to track down the ones I don't have right now, but if the Archive were released, it would be an immediate "must-buy".

I don't know--there still are a few issues that are in the 5-15 dollar range. I think it would be worthwhile to continue at least to the point where Superboy gets booted out of his own title or through Earthwar. I'd buy another one in a flash.
