better clear them with your mother

Here's a hint: This was from the verse of the theme song that was played over the closing credits of episodes from this show's first season. The words of the song were changed for the second season.

I looked it up a few days ago; it's The Facts of Life. But I totally should have been able to get it on my own! Oh well.

If nobody minds, I'll not wait for confirmation?

It's quite an unusual thing!

I knew watching all the kiddie shows would pay off. Where's my check, Matt?

Actually, the Backyardigans is a fun show. It is a show for kids, but it is enjoyable for adults too. The kids have imaginary adventures and do it Broadway style, with a lot of entirely too-catchy songs.

OK, here we go...

No matter what the odds are this time,

Sometimes the world looks perfect,
Nothin' to rearrange.
Sometimes you just
Get a feelin' like you need some kind of change.

Got a smile, got a song
For the neighborhood

Yeah. Somehow I didn't think anyone would recognize The Smothers Brothers Show. Their sitcom only ran one season and has rarely been rerun. shrug

Here's an easier one:
It's coming down the line, strong as it can be...
