The cliques - are they here yet? Maybe more working groups than cliques? Not to mention who will line up on whose side in the possible leadership battle...

The three founders stick together, I bet. Maybe Triplicate Girl is part of this group, if she's working with Cos?

Light Lass - Ultra Boy - Micro Lad - (?)Invisible Kid - will Lyle tag along with these guys or be a regular parrt of the group?

So far, I don't see Sun Boy in any particular group - I suspect he'll want to be part of every group.

Brainiac 5 - his mysterious collaborator - (?)Dream Girl - Shadow Lass - (?)Invisible Kid

I see Sun Boy being part of Cos' group. Like Hawkeye to Captain America...Clint loves to argue with the guy but always has his back.

Saturn Girl on the other hand you never know.
Element Lad is another one that can go either way as Princess Projecta.

Invisible Kid, Triplicate Girl, Dream Girl and Cham I side with Cos as well.

Ultra Boy, Phantom Girl, Karate Kid, Shadow Lass, Colossal Boy I put with Brainy for some reason.

As far as cliques go...Sun Boy seems to be the leader in that field right now. Him and Cham may be buddies like they used to.

The friendship cliques might be somwehat different from the political cliques. I could see the founders and very early members (Triplicate Girl, maybe Phantom Girl) as friends who are later divided by political/philosophical differences.

Cos's Group - Triplicate Girl, Sun Boy (questionable loyalities), Star Boy, Colossal Boy, Karate Kid, Princess Projectra (royalty tend to be conservative), Ultra Boy (wants to be "safe").

Brainy's Group - Shadow Lass, Element Lad (values change), Invisible Kid, Chameleon, Saturn Girl (co-conspirator).

Not yet sure how to align the following politically: Phantom Girl, Dream Girl (will she side with "winner"?), Lightning Lad and Light Lass (I suspect they both hate divisive politics) and Violet (shy doesn't necessarily mean conservative).

On the more personal front, I can see Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad and Light Lass possibly operating as a family group. Colossal Boy and Violet might be attracted to each other because they have the same (?) powers. The muscle boys (Ultra Boy, Colossal Boy and Karate Kid) will have fun sparring together. Element Lad and Chamelon have "change" in common, and are both outsiders. Jan and Phantom Girl seem to have an unlikely friendship going on already.

I don't see Saturn Girl ever wanting to be IN a cloque, but I can see one forming around her almlost despite her best intentions.

And I think that as in the past there's a natural inclination for some couples to form a clique simply by merit of the couple-ness.

But I don't want to forget those who glide from clique to clique - they're like the O blood type, the universal donor who can blend in anywhere. I suspect Ayla or maybe Triplicate Girl are the most adaptable in this regard.

I really don't see Shadow Lass in Brainiac's group. When he flew away in issue #2, she said "Even I could predict that. Good riddance."
That doesn't at all sound like a supporter of his.

I actually don't think it will be as simplistic as two groups. I think there are a number of possible splinter factions.

Yes, but the fact that she's even in the Legion makes me think that she's rebelling against some of the things usually expected of "royalty." Also, she might see it more of her right and duty to change society into what she thinks it should be.

*pushes her into Brainy's group*

Also, I disagree that Sunboy will prove to have questionable loyalties, although it may take him a while to settle to Cos' side.

But otherwise, I fairly agree with you.

The old cliques have had some shake-up (probably a good thing for a story). The founders clique lost Lydda. Has the Ranzz family formed their own clique now? The Lar-Jo-Tas-Tinya clique has certainly broken up as a group, although Tas & Tinya are still friends.

The three new members should hang out together - although eventually they should attach themselves to older Legionnaires.

Sun Boy and Polar Boy (plus any willing female?) have formed a friendship/partnership. Could Chemical Kid join in, or would his personality clash with Dirk's? Dragonwing seems like a bit of a headstrong party girl; she might enjoy their company.

Glorith strikes me as a hanger-on at this point, she just may attach herself to any group that shows her a bit of welcome.

Would Gates and Tellus strike up a friendship on Legion Lost, given that both are adjusting to new environments? Perhaps they can form a clique with Yera. Although with only 7 Legionnaires there...

Lydda seems to be pretty good friends with Chuck and Luornu as well.

Tenzil seems like he'd be right at home with the Academy trainers. Lydda, Lu, Chuck, Tenzil, the Legionnaires that people don't always take very seriously, and who have to fight for respect.

I'd love to see some of the more 'clique-less' or reserved members such as Invisible Kid II strike up friendships with Glorith and take her under their wing. After Legion Lost and the departure of Blok and White Witch, Jacques' only real peers left in the Legion are Quislet and the new kids.

Love the idea of Tenzil hanging with the Academy trainers, even if he was "just visiting" and not an instructor.

Would love to have XS back on the team, and trying to awkwardly shoe-horn her young self into the social circles of veterans Cos, Ayla/Vi, Tinya/Jo, etc out of habit from serving steadfast with their Earth-247 counterparts.

I'd also like to see Dream Girl out socializing more, be it flirting with the boys or actually trying to find a gal pal (but perhaps getting frustrated at the prospects and quitting in her search).

I'd like to see that. Poor Tenzil was ignored by Levitz for so long in his earlier runs, while retired Legionnaires Chuck and Lu made frequent appearances.

I like those ideas, Future. Would love to see XS' thoughts on Mon-el and Cos, whom she had crushes on way back then.

Would also love to see how Gates and Brainy interact now, as Gates and his Brainy were close.

I wonder who the new kids (Chemical Kid et.al.) would gravitate too? I think they'd get along well with Quislet.

Dragonwing and Violet would be an interesting pair too. Both are somewhat assertive women who aren't afraid to get rough.

And Chemical Kid and Sun Boy? I can see some potential friction between those two.
