There are two possible answers to this, any one will do but you get extra smart points if you can get both and also if you give the full definition.

1. Mulch is the Sage's dog.

2. Mulch is something something vegetable something sediment something process blah blah blah I can't remember the whole thing.

ONe of them (I assume the great-grandfather) is Scalphunter, I think. I don't remember the other one.

Nope, Scalphunter was Matt O'Dare's prior incarnation, and was the boss of the great-grandfather...but not a blood relative of the O'Dares.

I read Starman, and I don't recall Billy's dad (wasn't Scalphunter, tho). But I haven't read them recently; there may have been a brief mention.

Sorry guys, didn't realize how long I'd left this.

Brief mention it was - Billy's dad was Rory (mentioned just briefly in issue # 26) and Rory's dad was Carny, who actually appeared in the Scalphunter Times Past stories.

I'll let XBen have the next question. Remembering that Scalphunter is associated with the O'Dares didn't really answer the question, but was more than anyone else had to offer.

That's right. I found two of the Dark Horse archives at my local library. I don't know that I'd ever heard of this series before.

For those who are like I was (not familiar with this title), Matthew E's correct answer is also the name of the series.
