Captain Victory was one. I can't remember the other. I never read them but I remember the adverts from the Groo Comics.

Captain Victory was indeed one, so you have the question. Captain Victory was the one I remembered (but never read) but in looking up things to make sure I remembered correctly, I discovered that Kirby also did Silver Star

As I mentioned Groo the Wanderer I'll do a question on him.
What was the name of "The Ambassador"?

Sorry guys, I forgot all about this thread.
So, no Groo fans. And I thought you were all people of good taste.
Okay I'll try a different question. I have to go out just now but I'll get back to you tonight.
Oh and the ambassador was called Gru.

I read Gru on and off, but didn't recall any ambassador reference. Of course, it's also been 15 years...

Okay, I'm back.
I'll do another Groo question but an easy one:
What is mulch?
There are two possible answers to this, any one will do but you get extra smart points if you can get both and also if you give the full definition.

Got both parts right Matthew.
The full quote would be "Mulching is a process of inbred fertilization which employs certain decomposed organic materials - including but not limited to animal sediment - to blanket an area in in which vegetation is required. The procedure enriches soil for stimulated plant development while, at the same time, preventing erosion and decreasing evaporation of moisture from the ground."
I can't believe I was sad enough to look that up and then type it all out...I REALLY have to get out more!

Wow, a whole week and no takers?
Hint: The father's name is Billy. Name the other two and the next question's yours.

ONe of them (I assume the great-grandfather) is Scalphunter, I think. I don't remember the other one.

Nope, Scalphunter was Matt O'Dare's prior incarnation, and was the boss of the great-grandfather...but not a blood relative of the O'Dares.

We seem to have lost CMK. Quis, you were the last one to answer his question, do you want to take the next go?

I read Starman, and I don't recall Billy's dad (wasn't Scalphunter, tho). But I haven't read them recently; there may have been a brief mention.

Sorry guys, didn't realize how long I'd left this.
Brief mention it was - Billy's dad was Rory (mentioned just briefly in issue # 26) and Rory's dad was Carny, who actually appeared in the Scalphunter Times Past stories.
I'll let XBen have the next question. Remembering that Scalphunter is associated with the O'Dares didn't really answer the question, but was more than anyone else had to offer.

Sorry, I had no idea that I'd been given this question...
OK, what's the name of 1A's protege, what is his nickname/unofficial position, and what year did his adventures take place?

That's right. I found two of the Dark Horse archives at my local library. I don't know that I'd ever heard of this series before.
For those who are like I was (not familiar with this title), Matthew E's correct answer is also the name of the series.

Okay, here are lists of names from three different (but similarly themed) comic strips. All three lists are arranged in the exact same order. The trivia question is to fill in the names at A?, B? and C?.
Blag; A?; Joe; Yamara. Yeagar; Artax; B?; (empty). (and also Nodwick) C?; Teflon Billy; (empty); Knuckles. (and also Thorina or Zayre)
Somebody out there will find this one really easy...
