Mine was a 60s Superman, I don't know the number offhand but the story was Superman's Achilles Heel.

It was an issue of Sargent Rock. Dont' remember it, just that it was one of his. Next one was a legion comic. I stuck with the legion. And then GL.

Avengers #222. Great cover. Had a bunch of superheroes on it and I only knew a couple of them.
Great new reader friendly story. Made me a fan of Avengers forever.

My first american comic was Superman 254 from 1972. Stories by Denny O'Neil and Len Wein. Art by Curt Swan, Murphy Anderson and Neal Adams. My first Dutch comic was Donald Duck or Robot Archie in the early sixties. I read my first Dutch Batman comic in 1966 when they starting publishing Dutch translations of Superman and Batman. And when I saw the Batman tv series backthen, I was hooked on that serie and a comicjunkie was born.

SPACEKNIGHTS was okay... They were hamstrung by not being able to use the Rom name or character because of licensing. Starlin went too heavy on the Arthurian influences, but Batista's artwork was beautiful to look at.

As for my first comic, it was 25 cents, in 74-5. Probably a Harvey series. Or Superman or Batman.

A reprint of one of Carl Barks's duck stories -- most likely Uncle Scrooge and "The Golden Fleecing."
I didn't get hooked on the "hard stuff" (i.e., DCs and Marvels) until a few years later.
