What happened between the end of Crisis On Infinite Earths and the re-invention of the superheroes, and where it actually happens. In Crisis, Wonder Woman turns into clay, Earth-2 Wonder Woman joins Olympia, and everyone actually remembers the Crisis...so in what issues or where did everyone start forgetting Crisis? How did they wipe the slate clean? and what exactly happened to Earth 2 Wonder woman? It's driving me nuts!

Six months (or something like that) later, there was an aftershock from Crisis that finally erased all trace of E1&2 and was shown in two books. One was in All-Star Squadron, where a picture taken with the whole Squadron had Superman, Batman, etc changed to merged-in characters Plastic Man, etc between the taking and developing (although a notorious goof left Green Arrow in the second version). The other one I want to say was the Legend of Wonder Woman mini, but I can't swear to it...

Well, I guess this is what we get for so enthusiastically encouraging you to ask questions! (just kidding) Believe me, you're not the only one driven nuts by post-crisis continuity. Technically, all the heroes were "reinvented" during "Crisis on Infinite Earths" when the earths merged. Some heroes like Wonder Woman and Superman got more extensive makeovers than say Green Lantern who didn't change much at all after Crisis. the DC policy at the time was "everything pre-crisis is canon unless contradicted by any story that's written post-crisis." -- not exactly a thorough explanation which lead to a whole LOT of confusion.
Oh, and I don't think everyone forgot about Crisis, their memories of it aren't what we saw. Everyone knows Barry Allen Flash died during something called "The Crisis" in a battle with the Anti-Monitor, but they don't remember the whole multiple earths thing.
I think Earth-2 Wonder Woman was simply retconned out of history.

All the heroes forgot about the Crisis when the writers forgot that some of the heroes were supposed to remember.
Earth-2 Wonder Woman was also forgotten in a similar manner.
BTW, Welcome to Legion World indigoboi! If this was an X-men site, I'd say "Hope you survive the experience". But it isn't, so I won't.

I believe Roy Thomas had a robotic villainness named Mekanique somehow "hold off" the effects of Crisis for a while. Roy's story is that he was initially promised by DC that he could carry on A-SS as a "pre-Crisis" book with all the original Golden Agers but that they changed their minds and he had to come up with a way out.

That sounds right O-M, and thus was born "The Young All-Stars", with the post-crisis replacements for the Earth-2 heroes that were retconned out.

DC also ret-conned its big guns piecemeal: Byrne's Superman debuted in 86, and he met the SA Hawkman soon after. But Hawkman was ret-conned by Tim Truman circa 1990; so even that x-over was tossed out; setting the stage (along with other gaffes) for Zero Hor in '94.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

I wonder just how long it took for the DC staffers ro finally agree on who would go, stay or remain relatively unchanged. Twas a shame about Hawkman, tho...the Silver Age Katar Hol (and his main squeeze, Shayera, natch) were a fabulous couple!
I take it these were the first and only married super-heroes when they first debuted in 1961? Please advise me if I was in error...
