It starts next week on Tuesday, the 28th. I asked the office tv junkie. He's quite reliable for information on that sort of thing. By the way, I looked up Bally stores on the net, and apparently there is no longer a San Francisco store.

Are you sure you missed the first five minutes of the actual show or did you start taping at 9:05? I ask because the first five (and last five) minutes were a short film/ commercial for Ford, which was how they went without commercial interruption.
Anyways, the show starts off showing the assassination attempt on Palmer at the end of last season. Then they do a "three year gap", picking up three years later with a body being dropped off at the Health Center place and a bomb going off. Then Jack and his partner go see the drug guy sign the deal for turning over what he knows about the terrorists he deals with. They mention how Jack was undercover for a year to get this guy and something happened during that time to change him. I think that should cover at least the first 5 minutes...

In case you read this before too much later, Fox has cancelled the second showing of Skin scheduled for tonight and after the series premiere of Tru Calling will be re-showing the first episode of 24.

Matthew, I'm hoping to watch the first 3 episodes this weekend. We just have not had time yet. But I'm anxious to find out what's going on.

I find this season weaker then the other 2, and i am so TIRED of kim bauer, looks good, boring character. At least she is not being constantly kidnapped, at least not yet.

I agree that season 3 so far isn't as good as the first two. We're treading familiar territory with Jack trying to save L.A. (from a virus instead of a nuke) and President Palmer questioning the loyalty of his associates.
I fully expect twists and turns that will take us into new territory though.
It's still a great show and Jack's added burden this time around is shaping up to be interesting (his addiction, not the wooden actor who plays Chase).
And yes, Kim is annoying as hell. If only it had been her that Nina Meyers killed instead of his wife...

Thanks, Quis Here's what I posted on the other thread (which I'll try to have deleted): Just when I thought the whole "save L.A. from a terrorist attack while there's a mole at CTU and the President has trust issues with someone close to him" was starting to sound like a mishmash of the first two seasons, they completely throw us for a loop ... again! The mole isn't really a mole, the President's woman problems are no longer an issue and the whole virus in L.A. thing was a fake out?!? Makes for great drama, but in retrospect, I'm not sure if this made sense. I'm sure that british show that dissects the show will have a field day with this latest "it was all a plan" scenario. Honestly, I think they might've made this one up on the fly... Otherwise, why the whole Kyle Singer red herring? Why were the Salazars so intent on getting him, why the big air tight cage thing, why did those men who captured him bother to shower down? All part of the ruse? I don't know if I buy it. Using the infected body as a bluff to barter for Ramon's release is one thing, but why the charade for Kyle's sake? CTU still would've believed the threat and if it weren't for that drug informant that Jack shot, they wouldn't have even known about Kyle -- don't tell me that was part of the plan too.

It cracks me up that Sherry Palmer would be the one who could badger someone to death through sheer force of will! Looks like she's up $#!+ creek though since she told David about it and he's so honest and all about doing the right thing that I can't imagine he'd ever let her off the hook regardless of the consequences for himself.
The other femme fatale of the show, Nina Meyers again provided some of the best episodes this season. Sadly, it would appear that we won't be hearing from her again (is Mia Kurshner too busy on "The L-Word" to come back and replace her?). Still, it was a great episode and a great way to send her off, preserving her badass killer bitch from hell status and also that Jack gets sweet revenge. I'm glad she had a scene with Tony since she had betrayed him as well.

Damn! I really miss this show. But it was either give up totally on LW or drop most of my TV viewing. Just too much going on with work, taking work home and the in-laws (specifically the dad) driving me around the bend. I really hope they get this season out on DVD quickly.

Matthew.

"24" has again changed into a new "chapter" having moved out of Mexico (I won't spoil it for ya Matt) and like the other changes of venue, it has revitalized the season again with a new premutation of the original premise with new conflicts and a progression of the main story (the virus). This show is like a film trilogy every season where there are definite breaks, but it's all moved by a main storyarc.

we're half way throught this 3rd season now !!! and i'm really getting into it !!!
it's a grower !!! especially with the return of NINA [ cool when she released the worm into the CTU database !!! ] and it's always great, when SHERRY is in any scene !!!

Yeah, having Sherry and Nina appear in the same episodes made for the best part of the season -- they're *great* characters and both their storylines showed how dangerous these women are in their respective fields (and Sherry reappears towards the end of the season!).
