That was the first thing I noticed, as well. Weird that Psycho Pirate would send the WaK Legion, but the WaK Legion would relate a flashback involving the reboot Legion... In the end, I couldn't be 100% sure it was intentional, or if she just drew the Legionnaires from whatever issue she used for reference when drawing Andromeda. Us making a big thing out of trying to read between the lines regarding LL coming from Trom comes to mind. Also, was it just me, or did the Mordru in the flashback look like the preboot version?? My mind may be going, but I don't remember him wearing the hat in the reboot.

I ***loved*** this issue.

With this, AMANDA CONNER has just ben elevated to MIKE ALLRED-status on my fanboyometer. Beautiful stuff!

The JO/Karen's breasts scene was funny.

And the scene where Karen explains her boobs-cutout was silver-age angst-worthy! *choke!!* It's enough to make me hope Karen DOES find a symbol... even if it means she has to cover those magnicently massive mammaries, which would be everyone else's loss.

I'm just glad PG didn't end up being Andromeda. That would have been clever, but it would have destroyed a character with great potential in the Legion.

I too felt relief. I want Karen and Andromeda to be seperate entities.

On the bright side, at least this DOES offer hope for a WaK-era Andromeda. This CAN'T have been done without Waid's consent.

I bought JSA Classified # 1 and # 2 just this past weekend (as I've said on the Dr. Gym'll board, it's always either feast or famine at my local comics shop.)

I'm enjoying this story a lot, and I've been a fan of Amanda Conner for years, even though I usually don't go for cartoonish artists. What sets Conner apart IMO is that most other cartoonish artists use exaggeration to make people ugly, but Conner uses exaggeration to make people cute.

This makes a lot of sense, especially with the JSA/Mordru/Legion link.

Since the Trapper manipulated the 20th/21st centuries to interfere with Mordru's rise, and given Karen's mysterious origins, it's a perfect storytelling mechanism, especially if it can link all three LSH timelines, without actually compromising them.

Theory:
Glorith's time manipulations (the premature death of Valor, etc.) led not only to Zero Hour, but weakened the original undoing of Mordru in C-20/21 (who in Reboot was loose again in C-29, not C-30, as presumably was the case in preboot continuity), as Valor of C-20 was no longer alive and available to help win the battle.

As per JSA 51, there was supposed to be one final(?) battle with Big M and the Reboot LSH, but perhaps showing by M this, he was able to prevent it (inspiring and aiding a JLA-themed group of rogues in C-31? helping the Persuader cut through realities?).

The Trapper (whichever incarnation is still around) would have only greater cause to use PG or anyone vs Mordru, and this manipulation fits his motif well.

Well? Did everyone else get blindsided by the reveal at the end? I know I sure did. It makes sense considering the latest VU issue but I wouldn't have guessed it.

And I take it the Animal Man Deus Ex Machina arc is officially out of continuity now? PP was replaced at the end of that arc but he's back now.

No, he's very aware of the past. It's the only thing that could explain some of the recent events in VU.

I'm beginning to think that maybe Darkseid has a part to play in this as well that will be revealed later on. His Fatal Furies killed off Harbinger when they kidnapped Supergirl...

I got chills. That's good writing!

I just loooooved the pages where everybody and their in-laws claimed to be PGs parents or relatives. Ultra Man making the claim of being Karen's cousin actually surprised me and thrilled me at the same time...too bad it's not true, that would have been so cool and in a wierd way it would have worked for me.

The scene with Power Girl and the Huntress was priceless for a lot of reasons but the line, "Superman asked me if I'd been drinking" made me actually laugh out loud.

I wasn't sure about this when the first issue came out even though I was exited about it pre release but it's well worth the read. I'm going to have a hard time waiting another month for the last installment.

Is everyone else making the assumption that PP is saying that Kara is Supergirl?

Not the Earth 1 Supergirl she's dead, he's saying that she's always been Powergirl.

Nope...at least I think not.
Were you around comic books pre-crisis? Karen's story was much simpler before the big multi-universal crossover that was supposed to make everything easier to follow but instead mucked up the entire company's product for decades.

She really is the Earth-II Superman's cousin...or at least she was. Huntress was Batman/Catwoman's daughter, Bruce was Gotham's Police Commisioner and Clark was the Editor-in-Chief (I think) of The Daily Star.

with all the cameos of the Earth 2 Superman and the Kingdom Come Supes, i hope PG will be revealed to be his cousin again.

I just assumed that "worlds lived...worlds died" refers to the Crisis. "You survived." Of the really high profile deaths during Crisis, I assume PG is not Barry Allen. Thus, Earth-1 Supergirl. Of course, I've been wrong before...Did anyone else die or get consumed during Crisis that would make sense as Power Girl?

"Worlds lived... worlds died" definitely refers to the Crisis.

And thus saying "You survived" is definitely a hint (or a red herring) that Power Girl is therefore still her pre-Crisis self who is the one survivor from that universe in the current one.

So its not so much that she is a survivor of a death scene, a la Supergirl, as that she is a survivor of that world - and will therefore remember the fact that she and her cousin Kal-l lived on Earth 2 and was a member of the JSA along with her friend Huntress (Helena Wayne) and so on.

Hope that makes sense.

I'm not really sure what's being planned here. PG is/was Kara Zor-L of the Justice Society but it looks like the JSA is firmly entrenched as Earth-1 inhabitants now and won't know or remember Earth-2.

Lots of the characters that were originally brought back to life (on colored paper that is) were Earth-2 folks but two decades worth of writers have managed to strengthen the earth-1 lives of nearly everybody that was there back then.

Karen has a problem in that she barely has any history before the Crisis. As a character she hasn't been able to support her own book and was largely used as a comedic foil for Wally's flirtatious ways during the Giffen JLA years.

Here's hoping that this rewrite finally turns this character around and turns her into the powerhouse she was meant to be.
