Disclaimer: what follows is, of course, a story-related theme for LMB continuity and not any kind of metaphor or negative reference to our wonderful online community!

First, I'd like to personally thank Legion World Holo-Net for this opportunity to address you all at once.

Recently, I returned to the LMB from a hiatus of more than two years after I'd lost my powers during an attack here by LMB villainess Mordra, the Harlot.

I spent nearly that whole time trying to track her down and eventually did to the galactic power known as the Dark Oval. Specifically, I found she'd ensconced herself within one of its five ruling cartels, the Hrykos cartel (the identities of the other four are hard to nail down). She'd married the head of that cartel, Damyen Hrykos.

If any of you have read Cobalt Kid's report of the incident, you already know that I infiltrated that cartel, but I was found out and was imprisoned and subject to cruel tortures. As the report says, Cobalt came to my rescue after hearing about my whereabouts from a mutual contact. It concludes by detailing a battle between myself and Cobalt against Hrykos who'd had my powers passed on to him. Hrykos tried to use too much of the power with no training resulting in his accidentally killing himself, Mordra and their daughter. When Hrykos died, the power passed back to me. The report is absolutely accurate.

Unfortunately, a contact I have within the Hrykos clan confirms as I've feared that they don't see the events that way. The Hrykosians are convinced that myself and Cobalt slew the three in cold blood and have sworn revenge. If things are escalating the way my contact thinks they are, the Hrykosians may soon declare war on Legion World because myself and Cobalt are affiliated with it, and they believe the whole operation was orchestrated by the LMB. It may be impossible to convince them otherwise. Even worse, the rest of the Dark Oval may back them up.

I recently ran for leader hoping I would be in a position to avert the war or guide us through this as I feel some responsibility for it. I hoped to win without sowing fear among the population. And of course, I hoped that things wouldn't come to this in the first place!

But beware, friends, for war may very well be imminent. I wouldn't blame any who may decide to leave Legion World should things play out the way I fear they will.

Cobalt's office and myself will work very closely with Actor Lad and Kent to do whatever we can to avoid, or prepare for, this conflict.

Jailbait Lass, I'm going to need to speak to Abin, and see what his intersellar security officers have picked up. Have a full report start being prepared for Actor and Kent. This could get very ugly, but we might be able to avoid a confrontation if need be.

The only way one could take on the LMB on Legion World is with some incredible plan covering all the angles--so we need to start ensuring none of those angles have already been covered...

It appears that the Hrykosians are currently attempting to undermine the economic stability of Legion World, Possibly as a prelude to a more direct confrontation.

According to my sources, The Hrykosians have been very active in Space Sector 69. As you know the major planet of interest to Legion World in that sector is Orgasmus Major, home of the Mayte Swappers and the source for many staples of the Legion World lifestyle including Bi-Beer, Knees High Valley Wine, and Browneye Bass Fishing Equipment.

Their Emmisary to Orgasmus Major (Col Hezza Lyre) has made several overtures to the Rulers (T. Fuzzball Liquor and his current Mayte, the right honorable Wen Williya Boneme) in an attempt to secure "Favorite Partner" Trading Status for The Hrykosians.

Since Orgasmic Law prevents the Mayte Swappers from conferring "Favorite Partner" status to more than one "Swapping Partner" (Their term for Trading Partner) at a time, the "Favorite Partner Status" that Icefyre and Lad Boy partied so hard to achieve for Legion World during their last visit to Orgasmus Major is now in jeopardy.

I suggest that an immediate trade mission (obviously led by either Lad Boy or Icefyre, but Bevis would also be an excellent choice) be sent to Orgasmus Major to secure our interests on that planet against the depravations of the Hykrosians.

Also news of a possibly related incident in Space Sector 247 has recently surfaced. Several witnesses on board the Spiffany Lines Cruse Ship “You’re all STUPID!” reported that both Lester and Tiffany Spiffany disappeared in mid flight on a routine cruise between the “Golden Crescent” planets Acapulco and Montenegro Bay.

The new Spiffany Family Spokesperson, Sheeza Fybber, denies that they were aboard the Liner, claiming that the pair has simply “decided to take some time away from the Public Spotlight.”

However, a member of the Spiffany PR team commented (off the record) that “they aren’t worth that much to anybody and the old man is sick of their escapades anyway, so the Hy… Umm… they can stay on Vacation forever as far as he’s concerned.”

Could we get any input on this from our new leader and/or deputy?

Updated: Several offers have come in to the Real Estate offices of Jectra, Spiffany, Ester, Greybird and Cobaltus (of which I am co-owner) and we've turned them all down. Apparently, someone is trying to buy up Legion World property at this point, and I'm beginning to suspect the Hykrosians.

I'm hoping this can be nipped in the bud diplomatically. One of our more ambassadorial statesman, like Faraway Lad, Vee, Crujeckie or Fat Cramer might be able to persuade them otherwise.

Its still too early to tell where this is all leading. Now the Science Police want to get involved...

I'm hoping to handle it quicklky before the leadership of the LMB need to be aware. Unless we've gravely underestimated their resources and willingness to use them...

I'm just beginning to sort through the events that kept me away from Legion World for so long, but I suspect that this universe is a much darker place than when I left ...

Sorry, I've been incommunicado for two weeks, but I've been busy. On Cobalt's suggestion, I scouted the fringes of the Dark Oval. I didn't see anything definitive. However, the underground buzz over an upcoming invasion was very palpable. Many merchants were preparing to reallocate their services in order to capitalize on opportunities near military bases.

In addition, my contact in the D.O. told me about a massive increase in armament and ship production in a secret installation located within the impenetrable center of Hrykrosian territory.

Worse still, he believes they will be ready to strike very, very soon.

Dark times, folks. We have to be ready and soon.....

Heya Cobalt Kid! Haven't been in the office for awhile so I thought I'd stop by and pick up my checks since I've been away. Umm, I think you owe me about a year's worth of pay by now.

Oh! By the way, since you were out, I went ahead and let in that crew to clean the carpets in your office. They said you were expecting them, but you weren't around so I just let them in. It was the oddest carpet cleaning crew I've seen. Their equipment looked like a bunch of cameras. Wish I had stuck around to see how it worked. Weird. Oh well.

Anyway, I'll be in town for a little while so if you have any top secret missions that require my keen sense of observation, let me know and I'll get right on it.
