Well, shut my mouth. I no sooner typed the above than this appears on newsarama.com.

Pretty exciting. Maybe.

None did. Just questions and answers with Paul, Mike, Keith, Colleen, Tom and Mary. Very dissappointing especially with a pretty full room of fans.

And cool news about Smallville.

Cool, I'm all for the Legion getting more exposure, expessially when it strengthens their ties to the Superman legend, something that has been missing from the comics far to long.

Thanks once again Geoff Johns

Did anyone mention that Click Here For A SpoilerXS is the star of Legion of 3 Worlds yet? If not, then I am. 'Cause I'm excited. laugh

I'm really disappointed that the Smallville news wasn't deemed important enough to mention at the Legion panel. The center would have shook with the shouts and applause had Johns told us this.

Gary, you are most likely right on the name. I heard Multiple and I know my first thought was how could they use something that similar to a Marvel name.

I am not. This is so dull. I'd rather have a 4th reboot with Tom McCraw.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed in the 50th anniversary of the Legion. There were no spoilers, teasers, or previews. DC wouldn't even talk about L3W. The main reason I came to the Con was for the Legion stuff. There were no Legion TShirts or anything else Legion. All they got was a crummy article in the Program guide.

They could at least showed some preview art.

At least the new X-Men cartoon preview and Avatar celebration made it worth it.

I seem to recall that the spoiler was inferred in the post zero hour run?

Didio did announce the Smallville appearance of the Legion on his Sunday Final Crisis panel. The program book promised a final announcement and this was *one* of them.

Considering that Marvel's big announcement was "there's a cosmic storyline coming up," I think DC actually hit it out of the park in that last newsy panel.

I think that Johns could have announced it at the 50th Anniversary panel and it would have been more appreciated, but that's also 20/20 hindsight. That Legion news went over quite well with the general DC audience.

Count me in. I am totally underwhelmed. Hate the character, don't like the superpower. D'uh!

But as I said earlier today in another thread: You can integrate any Reboot character into classic continuity as a "late joiner" so everybody's happy...

... on a second thought, forget it. There's no way that EVERY Legion fan will EVER be happy with ANY approach taken... somebody will always be disgruntled... I only wish that this time, it will not be me... again... smile

I am. I miss Jenni smile XS

And it was. Legionnaires Annual 3, where the Time Trapper says XS has an ultimate role to be unveiled.

(looks at Imra's eyebags) Kids, THIS is what happens when you probe minds without a break for too long!

Good lord, a comic book cover has less details than the average (stressing on the 'average' part) webcomic. Although I do like it, I'm not sure if that kind of cover would even generate the ka-chings. Barely revealing the two uncanny SGs really says a lot about how much the series would focus on their two Legions. I guess LSH v4 #105 is a bit more balanced...

Excited about Jenni, though that's really old news. The teaser trailer, anyone? I bet Lex Luthor found a bigger LoSV after all, after Sb#86 and Sm#147.

Oh, and in #105, the Time Trapper made a similar prophecy to XS, or something along the lines of "I have many games in stored for you, youns XS." Ok... confused

Unfortunately, the Legion is no exception.

They keep saying SuperBOY-Prime again.

Did they finally settle the lawsuit?

They haven't really settled it yet from what I can tell, but they have resolved the part concerning Superboy Prime.

Didio said it was ok for them to call him that now....but they still aren't referencing Superman as Superboy so that part must be unresolved.

I think I read something about Superboy Prime being a different character so the Siegels have no claim to him.

I am not sure exactly how it works but somehow the ruling on Superman and Action Comics #1 belonging in part to the Siegels somehow helped DC in the Superboy litigation....there was a lawyer at newsarama talking about it when the Action Comiics ruling came out. It didn't give them the rights to him...but it did alter some of the previous rulings concerning the character. The legal stuff is way over my head though...

The one thing I think is definitely relevant...if they can call Prime SuperboyPrime again...that means they can probably call Connor Kent Superboy again as well, since he's based even less on Superman in Action #1(or Kal-El Superboy) than Prime is.

BTW, there is some new stuff on the litigation today..nothing about rights, but DC produced some old letters between Siegel, Shuster and the Superman editorial staff from the early days of Superman...

Pretty interesting inside view of the comics industry circa 1940:

I'm still super-excited about this book but I must say that reading that Superboy-Prime and Bart Allen may be being featured prominently in it does a lot to dampen that excitement.

Bart Allen as Impulse was a big favorite of mine, as long as he stayed in his own little Flash family of books. Superboy-Prime is purely stupid to me. Guess we get to share the bailing bucket Blacula, we're in the same boat.

I'll third Blacula and Blockade Boy's Bart comments. I used to be a huge Impulse fan, but after all the big changes to him I was glad he got laid to rest. I'm not supportive of his possible return, especially if it 'uses up' a chunk of story time. Will that be the majority of XS' role, aiding his return? Guess I'll wait and see.

I'm surprised, especially by the interview, of no mention of big roles for postbooters or threebooters beyond XS. I'll enjoy the book no matter what, but hope more of a variety of characters from different teams will get some spotlight.

He really downplayed LSH role in the whole story, almost like making it a plot device to tie his Flash, GL and Superboy-Prime ideas. And there is not a worse character these days than Superboy-Prime. A wanker twin villain, how novel.
