I suppose it must have been mentioned somewhere, but I think that Batista has copied Matthew's smile for the Legionnaires, particularly Brainy.

Compare that to the third photo on this thread. Eyebrows and smile: dead on.
Though not a smile, Brainy's expression in #27 when he says "I hate bombs," is a mirror reversal of your first photo.
Have any photos after eating bad shell fish? Then we could compare skin color too.
