Hey, guys! I'm honored by and touched at the reception! I haven't been around because...well...boy I hate to say this but...(oh, just say it already, they'll understand) ...I don't buy Legion anymore! Just didn't like the direction the book was going in, and got kinda bored and split. Plus, it looks like Zoe's gonna remain the Amazon Breadfruit Girl forever. Snf. But the main reason I decided to go ahead and register was to point you guys to a really sweet Mike Wieringo sketch of Saturn Girl...and you guys might be interested in his comments about it as well. Go here: Mike\'s Imra Sketch Blog Entry ...and if you guys can tolerate an infidel like me hanging around, you never know- I may pop in from time to time and pop off about whatever.

Pop in whenever you want, ZLS!
I used to lurk on the old DCMB and remember your posts and love for Kinetix fondly. I'm sure everyone would love for you to stick around.
That Saturn Girl sketch by Mike is gorgeous! It almost makes me wish things hadn't gone the way they did last year...but I know both he and Mark are happy to be back on Fantastic Four.

JB, buying the current book is hardly a prerequisite for hanging out here.
Feel free to pop in and pop off whenever you want!

...I don't buy Legion anymore! yeah, I'm thinking of reading Gail Simone's arc, then not buyint it in October just to see what that feels like. Good thing there is no October issue, so I won't miss anything. Somebody has announced October as Fan Fiction month, so there you go. Come here, click on " Bits o' Legionnaire Business" and read some REALLY GOOD Legion stories. Oh, and thanks for the link. I would have loved THAT style for the post Zero Hour to Blight Legion.

Welcome aboard. Don't worry about not reading the title, I know you're not the only one.
You do know about the Mark Waid reboot though, don't you?

Heck, half the threads are on characters who haven't appeared in 30 years, anyway.

Good to see you popping in, ZLS (or, I guess we should call you JBLZ, now).
If DnA hadn't already left, I might have stopped buying the current title by now, so I certainly understand your point of view. In fact, I think it's a good idea for any fan to take a break from the Legion when it's not going well. I've quit the Legion twice in my nearly 32 years of fandom. Painful as that was the first time, it's given me the freedom to leave again, any time I so choose, something I had previously found unthinkable.

Wow, it's good to hear from you guys, Lash (you remembered that old LMBP name! Hee!) , He Who, Blockade Boy, Erik, and anyone else from back in the day whose name I don't recognize now! 'Scuse me while I brush away a tear...
Boy, JBLZ is kind of tangled-sounding, isn't it? JB is fine. Johnny Bacardi is pretty much what I go by everywhere on the 'net these days...but I wanted to keep Zoe in there somewhere when I was choosing a username, so that's what I came up with!
As far as the current book goes, I liked a lot of what DnA brought, especially early on- there was a real sense of consequence and weight to the happenings. And I've long been on record as liking Oli Coipel's art. But they kinda got off-track after Coipel left, and I was disappointed with most of what followed even though I must say I liked Chris Batista's art. It's not the first time I had bailed on the postboot LSH, I had stopped right before Legion of the Damned a few years ago. Boy, it doesn't seem like that long ago, does it? I'm thinking about picking the first Waid issue when it comes out, just to see what's going on, and I'll go from there. Waid created Kinetix, didn't he? Not that she's the only reason I read the Legion before, but restoring her might go a ways towards whether I become a regular reader again...
And I'll definitely check out some of the fanfic, BB!

DnA's treatment of Kinetix ranks among their biggest missteps (and, eventually, there were quite a few), in my opinion.

What's so sad about it is, per LEGION WORLDS # 1 and THE LEGION # 7, DnA seemed to have an excellent handle on Zoe's zippy personality. *sigh!*
I'm willing to bet Zoe will see better days in Waid's run. MUCH better days!

And, yeah, the thing that's got me the most excited about the Waid reboot is the chance that he might bring the original Zoe back, too.
