In Miner's defense, he didn't say he had such a tattoo, only that if he were going to get a tattoo, he would consider that, along with an ankh. I like to think he would choose the ankh.

What are "bitters" and are they really bitter?

The best known bitters are Angostura. Here's the blurb from their web-site.

ANGOSTURA aromatic bitters is a highly concentrated food and beverage flavouring. Made from a secret formula, it is a unique blend of natural herbs and spices which is used to flavour a wide variety of foods and drinks.

The "secret" was developed in 1824 by Dr. J.G.B. Siegert, a Surgeon General in Simon Bolivar's army in Venezuela. He used his aromatic bitters to improve appetite and digestive well-being of the soldiers. The word "Angostura" came from the town of that name in Venezuela where Dr. Siegert was based.


Of course SHAKES carries a full line of bitters.

Oh yes, I forgot about the Jumbotron. I had it put in storage because somebody keep watching ancient archival holo-vids of the Woody Allen/Olsen Twin nuptials. It might be a good time to bring it out, provided those vids never re-appear.

Woody Allen was a great hero of the 21st century, correct? He and his twin brides saved Planet Earth from some type of Sun-Eater, although David Coulier gave his life to stop it in the end IIRC...
