But my friend was re-reading the Post-Zero Hour version of the Legion, and she pointed out something very key, that... completely blows my mind. Back in the 'Underworld Unleashed' event, Brainiac 2 sold the soul of one of his 30th century descendants to Neron. Two years later, we're introduced to Brainiac 5's psycho mother, Brainiac 4, who cannot feel emotions and tried to kill him. No wonder she was quite like that! And from our observations of Alan Scott's wife... That wasn't her. That was, well, her rampaging body, in a way, and not really Brainiac Four. Cause her soul was in Hell. I agree, when I first read about Brainiac 2's deal I was worried we'd have a Brainiac 5 going insane moment again. But what happened with Brainiac 4... wow. Even though it was never stated outright, it's a pretty fair conclusion and certainly makes for some nice continuity. The Continuing Adventures of the Postboot Legion!
