...got thru that shift which is about as hellish as last days before vacation tend to get for me--you know just as a reminder that I seriously NEED one! nod

Eleven days, including two full, long weekends! That's, like, an ETERNITY in retail, trust me! laugh

Plus, first real vacation (meaning, more than just four days in a row off or not due to injury) in TWENTY MONTHS! gasp Part of the perils of switching to a new company as I did at the time, having to earn vacation time from the ground up.

Heading off to sunny Orlando, FL for the bulk of it (Sat-Sat). Luckily, for these old bones, we'll only spend one of those days max in a theme park. The time-share condo we own down there is fairly luxurious!

whew! I am seriously excited for your awesome vacation! smile Are you planning to spend most of that time in the condo or on the beach?

Beaches are a pretty good drive from Orlando, so mostly condo and gallivanting!

...found myself highly interested in Lardy's Vacation Blast! that's about to ensue. (I hereby copyright that for future use as a hilarious comedy or a porno movie).

Orlando, FL! Hitting Disney or those types of theme parks? I always get confused on which theme parks are where in Florida and California.

... was apparently unable to adequately describe my desired haircut to the substitute barber. It turned out less "1930's banker" and more "1950's rockabilly".

Oh, well... now where did I store those "Reverend Horton Heat" albums?

... have a wicked sore throat. It was bound to happen, given that - over the last month - I've been to Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Detroit, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Louisville, Kansas City, St. Louis and... well... Goose Creek.

One can't be around that many different population centers and not come down with something. As I said to Huey yesterday, thinking about all the grubby little kid ailments that I've probably been breathing in over this past month, "I've really got to stop exposing myself to children."

Yeeeeeeah... I should probably think of a different phrase to express that idea. smile

...am probably going to be forced to take my family to see Monsters U. I loved the original (it and Finding Nemo are my favorites of the Pixar films) but never wanted a sequel to be made. I'm sure this prequel is decent, but nothing will top the beautiful story of Boo and Sully.

*sigh* Can't help but see that sequels/prequels are the norm, rather than the exception, since Disney engulfed Pixar. frown

... I always did wonder why companies love making prequels. I hate prequels; you already know where the characters will end up, making it a bit harder to have a sense of suspense or to care so much about their choices. I greatly prefer sequels.

I just think Pixar is at its best creating new things. Again, Monsters U. didn't suck, but no sequel or prequel they've made has come close to being as satisfying as seeing them just surprise us with something we've never seen before. I've a feeling that Pixar's best years are definitely behind them.
