Booster Gold it is! I'm amazed it took this long to find the answer. All the clues seemed so obvious to me but I guess that's what happens when you know the answer.
P.S. The character that got killed by the Dimension X aliens was BG's sister Goldstar.

Wow!
Honestly, the clue that threw me off was "* Though I'm sure this character has met most of the guessed characters above in one event or another, to the best of my knowledge, they've only ever had significant interactions with three of them." Booster worked closely with Wonder Woman for a time in JLA after Superman died, and he was briefly (I think) on the team at the same time as Hawkman and Captain Marvel during the JLI days. I also didn't know about his live action appearance.
But the "closely associated with another hero" clue helped put me back on the right track.

In the awful, awful Titans/Legion Universe Ablaze crossover, after the Legionnaires find out the Titans are being controlled by Universo, they send four squads out to stop the Titans.
Which five Legionnaires were left behind at headquarters?

Hint: the five correct answers were all very surprising choices, IMO. Each could have made a big difference in battle with the Titans.

I think the problem with relying on memory for that mini is that there were so many away teams at various points through the series that they blur together. The initial discovery crew, chasing after the Titans, infiltrating Titan, the final battle - etc.
Relying on instinct (I felt like KQII was one of them but ruled her out - rescinding that now):

Also true, there were several away teams at various points throughout the mini. Probably because the writers had to try and fit 24 Legionnaires in. AND instinct plus memory together gave it to you! You got the correct answer!! Oddly enough, three of the most powerful Legionnaires - all of whom were effective long-range fighters - plus the Legion's teleporter were left behind while poorly chosen teams were sent to fight the other Titans. Just look at the horrid team ups below: 1) vs. Argent and Tempest underwater - Spark (!), Element Lad, Cosmic Boy, Sensor and Chameleon 2) vs. Donna Troy, Arsenal and Starfire - Monstress, Thunder, Ferro, Karate Kid, Triad. None of whom have much long-range capability. 3) vs. Wally West, Omen - XS, Violet, Ultra Boy, Live Wire 4) Going to Titan - Invisible Kid, Saturn Girl, M'Onel, Umbra, Apparition So, yeah, the teams weren't that stupid, but... sending a hero with electrical powers underwater? Forming a team full of hand-to-hand combatants against an Amazon, and leaving behind many of the most powerful long-range combatants? Sure. Or maybe I'm just teed off that some of my faves like Gates and Kinetix were left behind and got almost nothing to do through the whole mini Over to you, Future!!

I had the wrong "mission underwater" away team in my head the first guess and forgot that for Gates to be effective transport, he probably wasn't actually on the Titan team like I thought he was but rather at HQ. I think three of those five Legionnaires were still in my head from a similar trivia question probably ten years ago now. Jeepers, we're old.
True story! I just re-read the first year of Teen Titans vol. 3 last night without planning to jump in here. So a related question from that era:
The four new Titans at the start of volume 3 (Robin, Superboy, Impulse, and Wonder Girl) were all pretty emo and not that excited to be at Titans Tower. Which of those four heroes was the only one that seemed to actually want to be there of their own free will, no reservations?

I may have asked this same question before, I can't be sure I know I definitely criticized this story many times before, and because the team choices were a big factor in my annoyance, I'm sure I cited the exclusions of Kinetix, Kid Q and Gates. We may be old, but we're still young at heart (And I won't consider myself old until I hit the big 3-0...!)

Thanks, Future! Yes, and even if it had been redundant, nothing wrong with recycling an old question after a decade That's what I tell Blaze too! But he's hitting the 30 two years before I do, and already the poor dear is worried. And that's despite being babyfaced I was going to guess Superboy, but remembered how hyped up Impulse would likely have been. Be back with a new Q soon!

In COIE, several Titans were included in the second gathering of heroes sent to help save and recruit Earths 4, X and S.
Name the 15 heroes (including the Titans of course!) sent to those three Earths. No need to specify which hero went where.
As usual, please limit your number of guesses to the number of unguessed "slots".
