I think credit goes to the sample size. I was able to weed out a lot of possibilities fast, especially with Garth present but not Ayla.
By 2004 and excluding the Glorithverse/SW6, which two Legionnaires had been rejected for membership in more than one reality, but then ultimately joined?

I was specifically thinking of Superboy's Legion, which showed Dream Girl and Wildfire auditioning but not joining. They were later in the closing team shot as members. This mirrors Drake's Preboot and Nura's Postboot auditions initially being rejection. Half of Postboot Drake, Blast-Off, also auditioned and was rejected.

Ah, I was wondering whether you meant that they had been rejected and THEN joined in both realities. I sort of remember Dream Girl appearing in Superboy's Legion auditions, but not Wildfire though.

Yes! These were the characters featured in the three major Sun-Eater stories (the Fatal Five, DC Comics Presents/Mongul, and Time and Time Again). I thought about including the Baxter era story where the Lost Legionnaires find a Sun-Eater factory, but that would have only added Chameleon Boy.
