I know I'm a little early...but isn't the Flash always early? At the very least, he is never late. Joking aside, I am posting this early because I need serious help collecting more characters for this game. I was surprised by the small number of repeating characters I found on the Internet and my memory. I glanced at a small encyclopedia at the library (not the huge one, like a smaller one) and that was not helpful. I am sending out a general plea for any and all knowledge of Flash villains. If I can't get at least 100 names, I might consolidate Flash's Idol with other traditionally "B-List" heroes (such as Green Arrow and Green Lantern). If it comes to that, I will rename the thread appropriately. We will probably experience a similar problem if/when we get to Superman/Wonder Woman (with the LSV Idol coming after this one, don''t worry). Thank you IB, I copy-pasted from the wrong line! I still only have 51 total though.
How many appearances did Abra Kadabra have? I also remember leaving off one or two people who were basically the same villain with a new codename.

This source says he appeared in 97 stories. I am not a Flash reader but I do know he was one of the more prominent Flash villains as well. The Blue Trinity can also be added. There were 3 of them, and they appeared in at least 10 issues.

There's Mazdan, who only had a couple of appearances, but is kind of significant because he appeared in Showcase #4. Also, The Thorn, perhaps more famous these days as the mother of Jade and Obsidian, but she started out as a Flash villain.

I only know a handful ...
Alexander Petrov - who worked in the police lab and used Dr. Alchemy's equipment to kill people, including Ashley Zolomon (during Geoff Johns' run)
Savitar - Mark Waid's run - a speedster cult leader
Black Flash - who was supposed to be a big heavy and is now in the TV show
Star Sapphire - NOT the GL one - she was an otherdimensional queen who fought Jay Garrick twice to take over the world
Razer - who wore a frictionless suit to commit crimes - he ended up working for a computer company during Wally's era
Fallout - the villain used as a battery for Iron Heights
Griffin - a friend of Barry's who got superpowers but aged quickly. Ended up battling it out with Impulse
Mob Rule - from the new 52
There's also the speedster villains that Jay fought with the JSA and All-Star Squadron - Baroness Blitzkrieg and Zyklon

Chunk started off as a villain. If you have Pied Piper, you should have him.
It's Peek-a-Boo BTW, although Peel-a-Boo sounds like a great Cobalt Kid villain!

Wow, what a nice turn out so far! I'm going to be adding names to the list in small chunks, so if you don't see your suggestions right away, please be patient.

Myg: Please provide number of appearances if possible for the ones you listed (with the exception of Star Sapphire).
Invisible Brainiac: Should the Blue Trinity be listed as a group or individual members?

I'd include Turtle-Man in addition to Turtle. Their Golden and Silver Age appearances didn't differentiate them too much, but the Modern era did quite a bit to rectify that fact.

I recommend listing the Trinity as individuals.i know the female at least has appeared alone. They have been added to the list. I had to double-check the female's patronym because it bothered me; it's more common to see Alexandovna. Gregorovich and Alexandrova aren't exactly last name; they usually denote who your father is. Tsarivich was the son of the Tsar.

I guess the creator either didn't research well enough, or decided to ignore the real world practice.
I'm reminded of Ice from JLA, whose given name is Tora Olafsdottir (daughter of Olaf). That type of patronymic naming system is used in Iceland, but Ice was said to be from Norway.

What about the Spirit King, who used Jay to murder Mr. Terrific?
Jay also fought Sieur Satan once or twice in the Golden Age and again in the All-Star Squadron
Also, Vandal Savage was considered a mostly-Flash villain for much of Wally's run (and clearly fought Jay several times)

Cicada was pretty significant in the early parts of Johns' run.
Rudolph West was a Manhunter agent back in Millenium.
EDIT: You can probably make the case that the "new 52" version of Captain Cold is significantly different from Pre-Flashpoint (including having meta-human powers).

Myg: I'll add them all to the list. If anyone objects to Zyklon's inclusion, let me know...by the way what year was that character created? It's one of those names that feels really on the nose knowing what zyklon is.
General Question: If/When we do a JLA/JSA Villains Idol, should be include or exclude those that appeared in other Idols?
I don't want to include Vandal Savage until this issue is addressed and discussed.
Dave: I'll add the New 52 Version of Captain Cold and the other two you listed.

I think Savage has appeared in equal prominence as a Flash and JSA villain (He's appeared lots of other places as well, but I'd say Flash and JSA are the most frequent). I have no problem with him on both lists.

Yeah I agree. I think there's bound to be people who pop up on multiple lists due to their publication histories.
The Shade, Fiddler and Thinker could just as easily be considered JSA foes. The Shade can also be a hero under a certain star.

The list is being updated with Dave's new suggestions. If anyone has a negative opinion in regards to having characters on multiple lists, please speak now.
